Actually we do not need to spend the valuable 3rd parameter just on the “Level” knob.
All these overdrive/distortion effects can have much sound variations if we implement before and after overdrive “Tone” controls. So the first pre overdrive Tone defines which frequencies will be mostly affected by the overdrive, and the second after overdrive Tone makes the result brighter/darker. This approach is implemented in Bit and Frequency Reducer effects, and will be followed in overdrive/fuzz effects.
Those guitar distortion pedals have countless variations in tones even for the same model: some years have different hipass frequencies (different capacitor values) suitable for different instruments/styles. So it is better to have variable Tone control.

Hey Igor! Any chance we can convince you to do a run of an MU format version? I have an MU Super Sawtor and MU FM Aid and I would love to add one of these to the rig.......

From the pictures I have seen, it looks like all of the front panel controls are located on their own separate PCBA, which should help make it much easier to offer alternate panel formats.

my head hurts a little from that question. what aspects of Chronoblob do you want covered by FX Aid? they have completely different layouts (look at the jacks, dedicated buttons, and switch on Chronoblob vs. what FX Aid is working with), and FX Aid already has delay algorithms that do the things that Chronoblob can (open feedback loop, clock sync, dual delays, ping pong delays, tape-like delay time changes), but not all of them simultaneously. besides that, Chronoblob is just a clean delay that's defined by its functions rather than its 'character'.

ok, I understand, sorry for the headache ;) my experience with the chronoblob is limited to hearing it through different patches (I don't own one), so I simply thought : why not? thanks for clearing this out

Loving this module, glad I got the XL. Really enjoying using the mod strip CV of my Keystep to adjust the sample rate on things like the cloud reverb.

If there is a shortage of good suggestions (there isn’t), I would humbly request a lo-fi junky delay that gives that neglected tape echo sound. Otherwise I’ll have to buy two FX aids to run a delay signal into the lo-fi junky ;)

that's a great thing to want, but how would it fit into 3 control knobs? maybe Delay Time, Feedback, and Tone, where Tone is a dry/wet over some lofi-junky preset. but that's not very exciting! in my opinion.

anyone notice a high pitched whine when using lofi junky? its related to the algo because when i switch its gone. gain staging issue? i was going into a vca first, and lowering the signal took it away, but had to turn up the channel i was monitoring higher than usual.

It'd be awesome if the editor let you search on strings in the description as well as the title- and also filter by stereo/mono in etc..

Haven’t had that on any of mine.

Lo-Fi Junky has a compressor with big gain, so any noise applied to the input will be amplified. The effects itself should not have this “whine” with inputs unplugged or fed from a relatively clean source. But if the source is not so clean – the gain will amplify this noise.

For some reason I can't change the navigation. The led starts blinking but it never arrives at the option mode. And I press it for at least 10 seconds. I updated the FXAID with some new Algos just a few days ago, so it should work. My FXAID is from the first batch, could that be a reason?

thanks! i'll take a closer look at the input content and unplugged jacks.

I made an update through the browser and it works now :)
I had problems with the browser before and I though it was because I couldn't get my Adblocker to pause. I tried different browsers, but had no luck. I later found out, that the problem was the .json bank file that I loaded from the standalone app. I had to make a new bank file in the browser and was able to download it.

There’s a Eurorack version, too.

It's basically a smashed compressor with a tape warble.
