Please implement an exit from the upload mode !!!! ( an another 10 second press ) because once the XL starts to brick when you have used the error erased a bit too much, there's no way : you have to restart with upload mode on repowering the case.

Usually updating is an very easy task with the 4ms Wav Recorder, even before the wav plays my couple XL were already on error and then it wasn't even able to reach the no error status.

I finally managed to update with my Assimil8r at -23.5 dB and I pass all the double checking, the cables swaps and so on, many times levels seemed OK but on replay they were not :bang:

I hope I have chosen my algos very wisely at least

As soon as zombie apocalypse will be approaching, the users can save their favorite banks as firmware wav files. Also the offline editor will remember all effects available before the global internet shutdown.
Im a bit oldskool in that regard, even have my driver for my first Honeywell keyboard PKZIPPED and saved on tape ;)
No in all seriousness I really like not to depend too much on the internet, I am not sure if it's just a problem I have or if this is common for some people... Got everything backed up. While this also tends to create a lot of messy harddrives, it certainly came in handy many times with older machines. Old Akai start disks, ensoniq stuff etc. But maybe I am to embrace the new age and use waybackmachine to backup instead, that is good for everyone

Ok, that will be implemented. The programmer, who does this part, asked one week time to fully recover from covid, and then it will be done.

Best possible recovery to the programmer and thanks in advance !
Really enjoying this XL version because among other things I tweak a lot the clock of those spin FV-1 effects
I think I'll need more to do crossfades with Axys of the same FX with different settings or other FX.

Do you guys find the additional modulation inputs of the xl useful? I mean do you use them a lot?

Being able to do two at once is great and sample rate reduction is usually a core part of playing a Spin FV-1 unit. For me it's worth the extra 2hp just to not have to memorize the button combo for setting the modulation parameter or remember what it's currently set to.

Same, the XL is just a no-brainer and controlling with a tetrapad or such is a treat !

Honestly, I don't modulate mine very much. SRR probably more than most (although just giving it a DC offset is also kind of common). Delay time or wet/dry occasionally.

For me the little bit of extra space for the knobs is worth 2hp though. In fact I have a 2hp blank next to it as well, which I plan to keep there if I can.

The XL is worthy just for the extra space around the knobs- I checked out a friend’s -the original was pretty cramped, enough that he switched to some different knobs for better access.

That said, now that I have the XL I’m keeping an eye out for a used 4HP, it’s such a great module that I could put up with the lack of finger room.
maybe you’d like to buy some nice used modules? Free cables with purchase!!

SRR is cv-able on the 4 hp version, isn't it? it's just limited (cv-ability) to SRR *or* an effect parameter, along with the dry/wet setting... right?

Hold the lef button until you see one led of the first row flashing. Use the right button to move the flashing led until it reaches the fourth position. Hold the left button again to exit the cv assign mode.

depends on the uses.
i´m happy that i have a FXaid in 4hp ! .....since i use one allways as a -mostly conservative- Reverb, end of chain.

then the second FXaid in 6hp for better access.....better suited for jammy uses, in case i need that.
but "i" would still patch manual CV sources (3xMIA) to it. so its for me mostly about to have the 3 CV inputs acessible at once

i find this a perfect solution

Yeah I have a mini for end of chain reverb too, it's perfect for uses like that where you aren't going to be modulating as much.

I never used dry/wet cv input before, but now I did and my unit goes dry with a lot of cv and wet with no(when you set the knob clockwise) cv.so wrong way
is that normal behaviour? would be very weird imho

i noticed an issue with the 'Delay pitch shift' where after about 12 seconds its starts clicking really bad, even with feedback all the way down. i have tried multiple sources and heavily attenuating before the input and the click comes back no matter what. anyone else have this issue with the delay pitch shift mode?

Boyz, I have space only for another big module. Should I go for a Mimeophone or a Qpass + Fx aid xl combo? My only effect module i have is a regular 4hp fx aid (and a clouds clone i will sell as soon as the new clouds will be announced).

New Clouds? :hmm:
