Thanks for the backing. I understand why people are wary of KickStarter (yes, there are 100s of 'horror stories')

But please understand this is our 2nd KS project (E370 Quad VCO was the first) and there is ZERO chance of fraud here.

The campaign is over on noon Sunday Texas Time.

After KS is finished, I will still have E520s (also with the POD option) available as a pre-order but for $589 + shipping. This offer ends on 15March next year. After that, you will have to wait until the fall of 2020 and expect to pay around $629 in the US.

There are still lots of silver Early Birds for $50 cheaper, and EVEN cheaper is if you 'buddy up' and get the 2x Early Birds (also many in black and silver). 43 people placed 2x Early Birds for the E370, but only a handful for the E520

Could you explain in a bit more detail what you mean by this?
I’m guessing maybe something similar to Clouds’ Spectral Madness mode but in real time? I think the clouds mode draws on audio from the buffer (could be misunderstanding).

I’m also crossing my fingers for the drone machine reward! :goo:

For those who missed the E520 Hyperion Audio Effects Processor campaign on Kickstarter, you will have an opportunity to pre-order a module, or bundled with a 4ms PODx 48HP powered desktop skiff, until 15March.

Pricing (which includes all PayPal fees + shipping) are in our SHOP section below.

Please note these pre-orders will ship after all prior + KS orders are filled. Estimate: late July.

So I've just finished reading the very dangerous book Pedal Crush and it's given me a couple of ideas:

- a mode for Deflector Shield where the modulator frequency tracks the carrier frequency and the rate control is an offset from that. There are a couple of ringmod pedals out there with pitch detection, like the Pigtronix Ringmaster, and it's a a much more "musical" effect than using a static carrier frequency. I wonder how it'd work with the frequency and phase modes in Deflector Shield :)

- delay inserted between phaser stages. The Dweller "phase repeater" from Old Blood Noise Endeavors may be the only effect that does this. It really expands what a phaser can do, into unsuual tremolo effects as well as diffuse delays and almost-reverb.

Something that I'd find useful and fun would be an "infinite feedback" mode that has these in series:

- a "no-knob" compressor/limiter which boosts weak signals but aggressively clamps down to prevent clipping or blowing up.
- highpass filter set at about 20Hz just to preserve headroom.
- a simple delay.
- a (not very steep) peak/notch EQ.

It can work alone as an infinite delay or resonator, but the real fun is externally patching it through other effects and then mixing it back in. A mono mode would help with that, so one could patch the right output and input as an FX send and return.

One of the stretch goals in the KS campaign was to "reverse engineer" the Norris plug-in 'Spectral DroneMaker'

Mission Accomplished.

The 3rd KickStarter Stretch Goal of having Mono Effects for Left/Right audio has been coded up.

We now allow users to assign the algos to Left & Right from a list (it's not the FULL algo list, but ones specific to this).

Algos include versions of delays, pitch & frequency shifters, phasers, flangers, filters, and the Shimmer Reverb.

What is new is that with a button press, the output of Left is internally patched to the input of Right, forming a CHAIN of effects.
We re-assign the Right feedback path to "loop around" the chain. The Left feedback stays connected to the assigned Left algo.

Here is a short demo, with resampling delay on Left and Frequency Shifter on right. First unchained, a slight pause, then chained.

I’m curious about the decision not to include any play controls, gate/trigger or 1 v/oct given that the unit can record up to six minutes of high-quality audio. I totally get that it is sold as an effects processor but it would be wonderful to be able to control playback of something that is mangled inside the 520. Or am I completely missing something?

So it's been a while since I thought of this project. And, since I pre-ordered pre-Kickstarter, I haven't been receiving regular KS updates.

So in the interest of reducing surprise for others who might be in a similar situation, I note there has been recent news regarding manufacturing delays:
e520 Project Updates on Kickstarter

It's all very understandable with this once-in-a-generation pandemic. Best wishes to paults in dealing with all this uncertainty and contingencies.

edit: Oh! Also, pre-orders are closing on March 15th: https://synthtech.com/shop/

I just got serious about buying a Hyperion based on DivKid's stereo looping demo. The only thing that's holding me back is not knowing if there's a trigger input for changing the stereo looper's operating modes in addition to the Tap Tempo button. (sighs) I think I have a looper problem. :help:

 Just found the section on the Synthesis Technology site that mentions that the Tap Temp button and Sync In jack do the same thing. Definitely was not running on enough sleep last weekend. Curses. Now I'm committed. Time to put in my pre-order. :deadbanana:
