Wow can you describe a bit more?
Maybe I'll post a recording today. If I start with no channels active I get no hiss obviously. But each channel I active adds more and more hiss.

Picture it like adding 14 layers of vinyl hiss over one another.

I use Cubase 10 on a 2016 MacBook Pro fwiw.
I have hiss on channels 5 and 10. Mac mini 2018. Any solutions for this?

Actully, If I set it to 44khz in Ableton preferences, hiss goes away

Hi,
In a standalone mixer configuration, is it possible to route the 8 input to be for example: 2 mono (IN1, IN2) + 3 stereo (IN3-4, 5-6, 7-8) -> Main L/R out signal path? Just wondering if I can forgo mixer & output module if I'm after a simple task of mixing source to a line-level stereo out. Thanks

I'll mess with my settings a bit and report back. But my hiss is noticeable on all channels and compounds if all channels are activated.

Nothing would make me happier, than if the volume knob on this module controlled both the headphones as well as the LR outs, or if you could configure which output was controlled by the knob. Is this possible?

Hey guys noob here, I've just bought my first couple of modules including the es-9, haven't plugged anything in yet just been watching a couple of videos and I've seen 'floating ring' cables mentioned, just checking because I'm not very knowledgeable on the technical side, I don't need to use these with the es-9 do I? I can just use regular eurorack cables right?

Any luck? I'd love a response from Os on our issues.

For example, is there a way to just tell the module that all inputs should be output in Mono on output 1? Then I could use my system with this as a mixer even with no iPad around (ES-8 output into Intellijel 1U Audio Out module).
Yes you can do that.

How? I'm in the Expert Sleepers Control panel for my ES-8 but I find no way of pre-connecting inputs to outputs so I can use it without a PC or iPad?

Hi. The forum gave up notifying me about this thread, so this is my first visit since I posted last above.

What are the currently outstanding issues?

Work has been crazy this week. I've only been able to turn on the modular once so far. I'll post an update when I have a chance.

I was worried for a moment there until I noticed that the signal is peaking at -90dB. I think this is within spec. Inputs 1/2 are expected to be slightly noisier than inputs 3-14.

That said I don't ever recall noticing such a strong peak in the noise floor. Could you try moving the ES-9 around in your case, or moving some other modules - maybe it's picking something up from elsewhere?

Yes it s very low. But still audible from 1&2 inputs.

No pb for other inputs.

I use a mantis case Btw.

Thanks for the quick answer. Will report after moving the module.

And regarding the difference between inputs 1&2 it's that 1.5khz noisy sweep that annoyes me.

Hey, thank you for your feedback but I wrote them an e-mail and they hadn't heard anything about that shipment...

When will the unit be available again?

Scanning the EU shops for two months now.
Thomann has removed the product from their shop and music store says May?!

Got my Es 9 yesterday and tried it to connected to Ableton CV tool. And I didn’t get the audio signal from my Oscillator out into the input 1 of Es9, also I tried to set the CV instrument pitch to the Ext. out 4 and it didn’t connected to es9. I set channel configuration 1-6 input mono and stereo and 1-6 output mono and stereo in Ableton. I don’t know what parts I’m missing here, I’m appreciate it if someone could help me out.
Ys521wow - I was setting this up last week for a client, and noticed in the manual that the ES-9 analog (3.5mm) outputs are actually 9-16. So if you're trying to send gate and cv from the cv tool, try assigning output 9 to the Gate and 10 to pitch. I tried that and saw the output jack light up with the MIDI clip playing in Ableton.

From the manual:
Channel numbering
The default channel numbering in your DAW will appear as follows, though this can be
reconfigured as required.
Main outputs: 1/2
Headphone output: mix of 1/2 & 3/4
S/PDIF output: 5/6
ES-5 output: 7/8
3.5mm outputs: 9-16

Unfortunately, too late again
Hopefully another chance at Thomann or Schneiders.
