Great thread.

I was just planning out a cheeky holiday palette case fed from the bigger rack. Here it is. Bit of a groovebox approach!
Paletteski.JPG
Any thoughts on this, anything you'd change? Ideally modules from my bigger rack of course https://www.modulargrid.net/e/racks/view/1367020

Not sure if I will have enough trigger sequencing but cant fit the steppy :(

Can the 104 join the party? This will be in mine when it shows up Monday. Mainly intended for live and unlive sampling partially driven by drums and junk.

I love the sound. The fact that you can't save your settings when powering down is pretty annoying tho.
But i bought it cheap, it gives you four voices without taking much space and as i said, i really like its gritty sound.

A simple yet powerful setup. Atlantis, Maths, plus a few utility modules (dual attenuator, dual VCA, MIDI->CV, unity mixer, pedal input/output). Sonically, it reminds me of my beloved SH-101, but with a TON more power. Much closer to the Octave Cat / Odyssey, but almost fully modular.

I'm using the Palette 62 system with my new M1 MacBook Air, that I purchased for porting the Valhalla plugins to Apple Silicon, but is also an amazing small laptop for music. Toss a Launchpad X, SE-02 and audio interface in there, and I've got a portable music rig for whenever we can leave our homes again.

My first recording of the Palette 62 system was much drone-ier than what I would have expected out of an SH-101 inspired voice. The dual VCOs and sub oscillator of the Atlantis, combined with some subharmonics from Atlantis and some reverse pitch shifting from ValhallaDelay, ended up creating a harmonically dense atmosphere:

Here's my current temporary setup. It's mainly made from borrowed modules (the WMD stuff) from my main case that's out of action for now. It'll be interesting to see where this goes after that, as I have a few interesting modules that didn't quite cut it to the main case and intend to use here.

The utilities in the middle are for mangling the Arpitecht's 1/VO CVs that I use to sequence the three voices of the Chainsaw (don't be fooled by chainsaw taking minimum HP!). As you can tell, I love spaghettis.

The blank in the 1U section is where my Digiverb was supposed to go, but it is too deep due to the tank being soldered too low :bang: . Anyone had the same problem? I saw a couple at the beginning of this thread, then no more.

Dual FSR? I've got 10hp left on my 1U line, and was wondering how useful these are.

i've only had this case for a couple weeks now, but i've liked having both fsrs. i got a good deal on the case and a few modules and decided to replace my 0-coast/0-ctrl combo with it, so the fsrs give me some of the tactile-ness of the 0-ctrl. i definitely don't always use both, but i find it's fun when i do. so far i've tended to keep my finger on one for slow naturalizing sorts of modulation and then go wild on the second. i do find it hard to actively engage with both at the same time because of their sensitivity/response curve/whatever, but there's a 90%+ chance that's user error :p

i'm also not sure what i'd replace the second one with. i've thought maybe one of the ritual electronics 1u switches, but i'm not in much hurry for that. if you've got other 10hp options in mind let me know!

Nice. Any external sequencing to use all the V/Oct inputs on Saïch?

I’m using mine as an overflow from my main control case. I hope to add a Steppy 1u and a noise tools some day. Image

nope. i'm mostly using saich's internal interval control so far, but i'm sure i'll be using the duatt to set pedal notes or the sloths to make drifting drones or finding other wonky ways of using what's in the rack. my goal with this rack is for it to be a harmony-focused drone machine that i can tweak/perform using the knobs and fsr modules.

I’ve just scored a few kind-of-rare 1U modules, so I’ve been rebuilding my Palette today with a brand new hot 4xStereo Mixer.
Proper picture this time (not a ModularGrid screenshot):

Here’s a first patch I made with it today:

I don’t know if someone has posted this idea before, but I made wood sides for my pallete that allowed me to reverse the 1u and 3u but keep the power unit at top. Here is how my system looked in its last iteration (I’ve since grown). I left a slip on the bottom right for power modules if they didn’t fit. I also made the wood side a little above the ground so wires could go underneath and wrap to the multiples with less of a wire rat king mess.

Interesting. I think having the 1U at the bottom, and the mults as at the top makes lots of sense, especially if you have a headphone jack out.
I guess you have no underbelly plate? That wouldn’t work for me.

No, the underbelly is there. The only thing different are the sides swapped of wooden ones I made so the rails would fit a 3u over 1u configuration, everything else is from the palette.

As a lot of people I’m sure have realized, having the 1u on the bottom makes more sense in a lot of setups since most modules have jacks on the bottom anyway. I also did one of these modifications to the older 104u case too.
