Hmm, it‘s more than 25% lower. So what‘s your understanding of „dramatically“ then?

Where did you get that info, if I may ask?
Some random post on the Behringer intro video on YouTube. So I guess at this point, it's just a rumor. Haven't checked to see if its still there (probably buried by now), or if there's been any confirmations...

I'd like to know the expected delivery date. Not that I'd believe it though...

I saw that post, too. But that's only one guy's wishful thinking.

Wouldn't be surprised if the case will be €399,-. And that still would be a good price.
But who knows...

The whole case is Aluminum? I had assumed plastic - will be interesting to hear thoughts on this once folks get their hands on it.

Well, one could argue that the Behringer is more HP for less money. But I'm with you. I don't like this case. It's too wide and just clones the Mantis power supply without upping the capacity to account for the additional rack space. Seems rushed and not well-thought-out, IMO. Also - those pics still show sliding nuts. Uli had said they were going to make it strips for the final version, but if it turns out it's sliding nuts after all, then my interest drops to zero.

It clearly has sliding nuts in the webshop pictures, and their description says "96 sliding nuts provide a more flexible fit than fixed pre-drilled rails". Considering it has sliding nuts and the same power as the Mantis, the Mantis actually seems like a better 'deal' to me. Tons of extra HP isn't useful if you don't also increase the capacity of the power supply to match.

Personally I like the size of the rack but according to their website they still seem to insist on using sliding nuts: https://www.behringer.com/Categories/Be ... ans(en|en)

"Easy positioning of your modules with the included 96 sliding nuts"

Haha, how stupid is that? So no reason for me to waste even one more second on thinking of buying this case.

Btw., look at the photos on their website: how much time did the apprentice of the photographer need to arrange all the nuts in such a perfect way? :hihi:

P.S.: Ohh, spend to much time on writing this posts. Previous poster already mentioned it.

More HP without more power make sense if you are racking huge components like the Model D and Neutron. They picture doing this and mixing in smaller modules. This is what it seems to be designed for.

$299.99
Sweetwater Savings: $150.00
MSRP: $449.99

no, there's no savings Sweetwater. that's the price everywhere. you came up with an arbitrary higher price and then reduced it from there to look better. stop doing that, you aren't fooling anyone.

btw, what's the salt content in this thread? beyond recommended daily dietary limit?

The 50-99 average was to do with the Roland clones IIRC, the Moog ones only ever had people on forums repeating the same old info. I cannot recall ever seeing Behringer comment about pricing regarding this particular series.

Why not just get this other case with less HP, made in a cheaper material, for just a few bucks more? Well..

It's a pity indeed. I'm already having frequent hassle with the sliding nuts in my spare 60hp case, and that goes up with more hp for sure.
But then, if you expect to mount 4 Model D's, fully threaded strips would be a waste of money. :despair:

Read somewhere that they would switch to threaded strips.

When this was first announced I decided it would be entry into modular. I checked almost daily for 3 months to see when it would be released. Then the switch to sliding nuts and the Kirn incident, and I finally figured I'd get something else. Really glad I decided not to get this case, especially given the price.

$299?! What a disappointment. Thought there was finally going to be a widely available fairly priced case. Too bad.

Power supplies aren't cheap, though. A power supply + brick + bus board is already 200 or more on their own.

That is why you need a company like Behringer to come in and show the world how cheap power supplies really are to make.. and to make and sell them cheaply.. lol

You would think they could get the power supply down to $75 and stamp out a few tin cans for the case.. why such a high price? Lol.

^ can you smell the sarcasm?

Behringer is supposedly showing the world how cheap it is to make synths.. why is a tin can and power supply so expensive?
