Moog Modular clone module or steak dinner...this will be a tough financial choice.

Until the last couple years, almost everything in euro was a copy of Buchla, Moog, or Serge. Could make long lists of Buchla clones.

It's a filter (with noise output?), an envelope generator, a mixer(?). I thought they start with their System 100 modules.

Hmm...
That's a 923 Filters and noise source, CP3 mixer, and 911 Envelope Generator cloned into Eurorack from the Moog modular.

It is indeed a bit surprising, or not.
904A filter also spotted

Really wishing moog would just reissue their modular modules in eurorack. I’m sure the behringer will be will made and a great price but it would be nice to have OG Moog modules.

Most people (and I mean everyone except Moog fanbois), will just buy the Behringer module instead because it will cost a fraction and sound almost identical.

well, they did...kinda...the grandmother and matriarch have this very circuits inside and modular patchability...so it´s just a question of form factor, and I think any of them are a very good addition to an existing euro setup

seriously, if the power doesn't suck this is a home run, and hugely competitive.

The correct Behringer-thread phrasing is “let’s hope they nicked the power design from something decent” :hihi:

Behringer makes some outstanding products right now (not to mention other labels under musictribe).

All the anti-Behringer snobbery is ridiculous.

Their stompboxes give some of the best value on the guitar market right now and are often dead on clones of other analog pedals for 1/8th the price.

Their Moog clone sounds great.

TC Electronic - tons of great stuff.

Klark Teknik - The EQ and compressors are amazing value.

If you're on a budget they are making some of the best sounding stuff on the market right now.

I imagine the width is as big as it is because they have a keyboard planned for the lower half, or they are planning some large module that will fit perfectly with current ones to fill that space.

Behr commented on the youtube vid that due to the overwhelming replies they'll be releasing it with strips instead of nuts. Nice responsiveness.

Looking at the shape of this case, if you turn it upside down and set it on its “top” it then has the shape of a System 55.
This could be a very cool mini System 55 - both in function and form.
I’m looking forward to see what other modules they have in the works.

Haha that made me laugh out loud!

But yeah, if it’s everything they say it will be (and Behringer are very good at doing that), this will be a grand slam for sure.
