Love the concept. Seems very musical. Hoping to get my paws on one.

This thing is neat. I only just discovered it through this thread today, watched a couple of DivKid's videos ... $200 bucks ... noice! It would pair up very nicely with what I have going on in my 12v synth cab. There's four Doepfer A135-1 four channel VCA/Mixer modules in that cab which would work well with this Ochd gadget.

Ordered OCHD from Signal Sounds last wednesday 6/5. came saturday. 195$ with shipping converted. Signal Sounds also had the Hydra ready and are happy to give you exact dates they will have stuff and how much of it.
With the current conversion rate I just ordered one for $166 (with no foreign transaction fee). I was shocked to see it was really that cheap when it is $200 in the US and both retailers are currently only taking preorders. I was going to wait and get one used eventually but this price seemed pretty good.

EDIT: I literally didn't know packages could move this quickly. I placed my order Wed morning, it shipped Thursday afternoon, and was here Friday morning from Glasgow to Ohio.

Oh and very pleased with my first jam with it, this seems like something I'm going to use in a lot of patches just to add a little movement to something to keep it fresh.

Am I wrong for thinking I have this covered with a Just Friends?

I kind of thought the same thing. I had Just Friends before buying an 0chd. I tried to replicate the behavior of 0chd with JF, but one of the differences is that the range of different LFO speeds on the 0chd seems to be quite a bit wider than JF. When using the top output of 0chd at about 1hz, the bottom output is "slothy" slow. I'd say way slower than "Apathy" sloth but probably faster than "Inertia" sloth (Of course, they are not chaotic cycles, just triangles. But at that speed, not sure one would notice the difference much).

Also, JF cycles are related, while 0chd cycles are supposed to be unrelated "tuned by ear", so 0chd modulations should seem a little more "organic". ;)

I kept both, because they usually serve different purposes for me. JF is used as triggered envelopes or audio rate, while I just patch 0chd all around the case. :tu:

Thanks for the response. Debating offing the JF as it's settled in my case as mostly slow modulation in the same way the 0chd was designed, but I love the waveshapes although it's mostly sine or triangle.

Both JF and 0chd can get different waveforms with feedback patching. Although, it's kind of hit or miss on which feedbacks provide the most useful resultant waveforms. And I still have to learn the different JF Run modes. I think JF requires a lot of experience and practice, and it can definitely do a lot of different things, while 0chd's usefulness lies in its simplicity.

Anybody know when the next batch is due? I have 4 hp left in one of my racks and find myself a wee bit short on modulation.
New track! Drum synthesis heavy, melodic piece where Instruō harmonàig is doing the chords. 🐡

I emailed Instruo last week and they said they were sending a bunch out to the distributors. Hopefully in the next week or so, they should filter down to various retailers.

Hello everyone! Little update. So after receiving my 4x Ochd some time ago I fell in love with it and started using it quite heavily for sculpting my Juno-6 + Juno-60 sound sources and I can tell it adds magic to all the processing modules that have their natural habitat in my two systems. Lovely stuff and an amazing module by Ben for sure! Great ideas. Keep them coming. :guinness:

UK people. It's in stock at Signal Sounds. Just got my order in!

Hopefully other stockists will start seeing a resupply shortly.

what are some fun things you guys have patched in to the CV in of OCHD? any interesting results?

I have had good experiences with a gate signal from a clock divider. That way I get alternating parts with overall slower and faster modulation. (It may not be that much "fun", but I think gates are underrated for modulation)
