Frap Tools Brenso

Post by peripatitis » Sat Jan 11, 2020 3:03 pm

Well it seems we have one more thru-zero osc to add to the list :)
This one seems to be a complex osc as well..

Nice! Complex oscillators are often more than the sum of the parts to me and Frap Tools is a cool maker. This could be really desirable.
My second ever track using Mutable Instruments Rings. Here paired with Make Noise 0-coast and Arturia DrumBrute and Korg Minilogue. A rather bittersweet piece. ❤️

Always wanted a complex osc and since I fall for Frap Tools aestetics. Damn. They really aim for another take on west coast in slik italian design.
This would be the second manufactorer which would I like to develop an own system of right after Mungo.

Hope we find some sound sources someday.

Estimated price is “629 EUR/USD”, so right there at the pricepoint of Make Noise, Verbos and Instruo. Maybe they learned a lesson from USTA’s high price compared to “peer” sequencers.

Reads as a solid package, and with looks to boot.

Saw this on fb earlier today. It looks lovely and they make some wonderful modules.. honestly, I have trouble with their graphical panel labels.. I'm sticking with Cs-L. Love the beast. I do look forward to the demos on this "new" beast of course.

Good lord. I was already a fan of Frap but now they're angling to be an absolute favorite.

My only concern is that their modules tend to be really hungry on the mA side, unusually so for analogue gear on the Sapel. But that's a pretty small quibble.

As usual the layout, while aesthetically pleasing, is a little vague to deciper at first but I'm already starting to get it just looking closer. The sound will be the judge determining if I really actually-need this with a DPO and Cs-L; it may well replace one of those. Considering that this thing's basically claiming to be what the Furthrrrr wanted to be I'd think I'd most-definitely be on alert if I owned one of those, but, we'll really need to hear demos first. We're not sure of the extent of its waveshaping and TZ capacity (although it looks promising), and do also recall that Hexinverter Mindphaser is in the works too and does PM.

We seem to honestly be spoiled these days with options :deadbanana: :deadbanana: :deadbanana: :75:

Excited to hear this thing. After getting a Falistri I'll never ride them off. The panel makes little sense initially but after the first jam with you'll pick it up and it'll make sense an hour into it. Also RTM.

Looks a lot like the DPO. They have a great aesthetic.

Impressive feature set and cheaper than the DPO/Furthrr/Verbos...this looks (on parer at least as there are no audio samples yet) like the next best Buchla clone/replica/rip-off/inspired/whatever, complex VCO in euro..

Quite curious to hear this, and if we don't now then we may not get a good shot at learning much more about it until release, unless Frap releases some demos..
