New modular brand - D&D Modules

Post by saint gillis » Fri Jan 31, 2020 8:54 am

Dear all, here's our new eurorack modules brand, D&D Modules : http://sub-continental.com/dd/

All the modules are handmade in Europe, using long lasting switches, top notch parts and connectors. For now they are only fully analog designs, conceived in an old school spirit of warm an euphonic sound. Also this line is optimized for a live usage with a nice space between knobs and controls.

Some demonstration videos are available on our Youtube channel, and more will come.

Stay wired and thank you for your attention!
D&D

Looking good and some interesting approaches as modules.

I would kindly suggest you provide some "real" photos of the faceplates. It's really cool you have the photos of the pcbs, and to give an idea of the depths, but a shot of the module's faceplate itself would be great.

I'm not sure to understand.. you mean that kind of pics? Adsr/Vca Pic

If it is what you're talking about, there are more pics of this kind on the brand's facebook page.

Yes exactly! Maybe it's the white webpage with the white faceplates that make the colours look overly saturated, but the photos on the webpage that show the modules look almost processed through a photoshop plugin where they don't look real anymore.

EDIT; and yes it's great that you have them on facebook, but would be a really good idea to have it on your actual product page :tu:

I think I have some D&D modules in a box somewhere but they're about 40 years old and have nothing to do with synthesizers haha

Haha I wonder if the pun is intentional or if it's just a coincidence?

They haven't named the modules like wizard spells... that's disappointing.

As soon as they come up with a portable hole that's triggered with 20-sided dice I'm in.

Haha no nothing to do with that, you can still try to invoke spells with them.
Thank you BaloErets for your advice.

Man, I was hoping that it was gonna be D&D-inspired. I'm slightly disappointed :(

Looks cool!

Seems like you have far better things to do than making adaptations of old Mutable modules. But the joke kinda writes itself:

Stinking Cloud
3 conjuration
Casting Time: 1 action
Range: 90 feet
Components: V S M (A rotten egg or several skunk cabbage leaves)
Duration: Up to 1 minute
Classes: Bard, Sorcerer, Wizard
You create a 20-foot-radius sphere of yellow, nauseating gas centered on a point within range. The cloud spreads around corners, and its area is heavily obscured. The cloud lingers in the air for the duration.
Each creature that is completely within the cloud at the start of its turn must make a Constitution saving throw against poison. On a failed save, the creature spends its action that turn retching and reeling. Creatures that don’t need to breathe or are immune to poison automatically succeed on this saving throw.
A moderate wind (at least 10 miles per hour) disperses the cloud after 4 rounds. A strong wind (at least 20 miles per hour) disperses it after 1 round.

Heheh the modular world is a geek's geek world, and the D&D reference seems obvious, but it's just our names' first letters. :despair:

Looks nice, great to see some boldness in design!

Maybe I should get your filter to take the last bit of Elvis out of my music

Thank you!
Elvis filter is a very elegant sounding ladder filter, it has an included negative offset lfo that works very well on it to add weird effects, we will hopefully prepare a dedicated presentation video very soon.
