Re: Robaux 3PT
This is intriguing. I’ve been considering the ADDAC306 VC Transitions for a similar purpose. The ADDAC is 2HP smaller, has 5 channels and direction control, but is single function, while the 3PT’s knob and indicator may be more intuitive to use. I’ll be interested to find more about the modes so I can decide if they would be more helpful than 2 extra channels.

This thing is great. I'm liking all the rise of live performance tools for modular.

Re: Robaux 3PT
this does look good, at first I thought it was just a Macro controller, but if it really can output LFOs, ADSRs plus quantise and randomise, it really expands its usefulness and makes it a must have tool.
looking forward to seeing how much it's going to set me back

just seen that it is a DIY kit.....

People will happily build one for you

Looks really interesting, I'll be building one just for the quantizer

Re: Robaux 3PT
Just finished building the Kit. Great module !
It's a very well documented build. First kit i got that had a physical build guide and manual included.
Had some issues with the included headers not having the right pin amount.
There where 8 pin female headers in my kit instead of the 7 pin that are needed., so i had to cut of the exces pin and almost screwed 1 up doing so.
Calibration was pretty quick and easy, just remember you need a (chromatic) tuner for it.

Re: Robaux 3PT
Thanks. I am in no rush.

Re: Robaux 3PT
I am currently testing the 3PT. So far I am very satisfied. A really useful tool with a great design! I'm think about getting a second one.

Re: Robaux 3PT
I got about half way through the build tonight before stopping and saving the rest for tomorrow.
The build guide is probably rhe best I've seen. I have considerable experience with audio DIY and am used to projects where you get a PCB.and BOM and then you're on your own, so it was a real breath of fresh air to see such good documentation.

Re: Robaux 3PT
I'm considering getting one when all of this is over.
Re: Robaux 3PT
You could have pulled one out, not much force needed. Also these headers do not come in 7... It might have better for Robaux to add an extra hole and not use it. I also had a 1K resistor left, there are 7 not 8.VanCool wrote: ↑Wed Mar 11, 2020 8:00 amHad some issues with the included headers not having the right pin amount.

I can't get it to go higher than 4.8-ish volts, not 5. The trimmers on the back all go to max and the three top trimmers on the from are only used to calibrate right?
Re: Robaux 3PT
Got my kit today from Exploding Shed, but have noticed that the nine tall trimpots (Alps brand) have no white line indicators on them. They're just plain black.
I presume it's not Exploding Shed's fault as they don't pack the kits, so Robaux might want to sort that out. To be fair, they could be having supply issues for parts but it's a bit annoying.

Re: Robaux 3PT
Toothpick and some white paint will sort that out

Re: Robaux 3PT
Just built mine!
Very well documented kit. And nice swag!
However there seems to be some issues. I find it impossible to calibrate v/oct, mainly on output Q and R.
Also in sequencer mode if I turn the step pots fully clockwise it goes back to lowest pitch. Annyone with the same behavior?
I can't see anything obviously wrong with the build.
Edit: Oh and one or two of the leds are on when they should not be I think, Kind of out of order.

Re: Robaux 3PT
On mine, with the pots fully CW it outputs the highest pitch in Seq mode, on all 3 outputs. Fully CCW outputs the lowest pitch.Only2 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 30, 2020 4:06 amJust built mine!

I had no issues calibrating each output, so I suspect your problem lies there.
Are all 3 trimpots at the rear of the module all turned fully CW like they should be? If they are, there must be a mistake with the build, a wrong resistor value or something.
