Yeah, mine is going in a 4ms pod like my other heavy duty sequencers. That way I can swap them in/out or rearrange them as is convenient. (Also sharing mine with a friend—the pod makes it easy to pass back and forth.)

Has anyone else set up a case specifically for percussion and FLUX?
I'm going to have a nice array of digital an analog modules to try it out.

(Stillson Hammer is in there just as a placeholder for FLUX since they're the same width.)

Yes... I've been slowly restructuring my entire rig actually in preparation of getting the FLUX over the course of the last couple of months. I'm not too into samplers, I like being able to modulate and shape percussion in real time, something I find too limiting when it comes to manipulating samples. So instead i've configured 4 digital percussion voices, with quad envelopes, quad filters, and quad mixer, all ready to take advantage of all 4 channels on the FLUX. I've wanted to do something like this forever now in my rig, and the FLUX gave me the inspiration to finally nail it down. Assembled my dream digital drum machine in euro, and the FLUX will be at the heart of it. Stupidly excited for this module.

EDIT: My only concern though is that my percussion voices won't be able to respond quickly enough to some of the faster stuff the FLUX can push out. Time will tell I guess.

Yeaaaah! We got VanEck on the FLUX train! I can't wait to see what people come up with using this thing. It's going to be a fun adventure.

I'm not much into sampled drums myself but I really love timpani and big cinematic percussion and samples are the only way to go for that. Plus I'm thinking with as dynamic as FLUX can be I may need less dynamics in the actual sounds I use with it.

As I've said before, it will be interesting to see how different modules respond to rapid fire triggers. There may be a weeding out process once we see what works.

The Flux announcement coincided with my return to modular after some time off due to unemployment so I've been planning my new case around it. I'll be using it with Assimil8tor, a load of filters (Mum M8 and A105 for that Akia and SP1200 vibe, plus uVCF and Ripples and (eventually) a QMMF). The rest of the case is set up to make sound sources to sample. Everything will be run into Ableton via ES-9. This is the main case right now, the Flux will go into a skiff that currently just has a WMD compressor.

yurp. i have this as my rack. i was going to use the Flux instead of the Metron but i popped Metrororiri in whilst waiting for the Fluxer, fell back in love with it. so plan to have the Flux in a Pod in front of that rack, sending to either the drum modules and/or tracks in Live through the ES-9.

cannnnnnnn't waiiiiiiiiiit.

(the EnsOsc is black, they just don't have an entry for it on ModGrid)

lol. i mean. it's CRAZY good? i replaced a huge desk space eating mixer wirh the ES-9 and have a FaderFox EC4 to cover level adjustments. Os just changed up the firmware where now you can mix inside the ES-9, send whatever at whatever level to Mains for monitoring, build busses and routing for the ins and outs to become efx loops. crazy how versatile it is.

That's pretty damn convenient. Will keep in mind if I ever decide to dump my Mackie 24x8 and/or Ultralite. 14 ins on the panel is what most appeals to me.

That sounds awesome. So FaderFox is connected directly to ES-9? Can you do those same level adjustments of the ES-9/FaderFox without being connected to computer?

so, i'm still waiting for my FaderFoxer to arrive, it shipped from Germany and everyyything is taking longer. so i haven't run it with the EC4 yet, but people have successfully used external MIDI devices to control the mix levels.

but the ES-9 now has a Standalone and Hosted mode. you need to hook up to a computer go set up those modes, but yes. then it will monitor or run whatever sub mixes you want, even unplugged from a computer. pretty amazingly versatile thing.

and it now has filter eq and compression/limiter on the channels and busses.

i didn't have funds at the time to order one of these, but i'm almost as excited as yall just to see some videos of it in action... especially curious about how it will be in an environment that doesn't have very low latency sample players. make them envelopes SNAPPY folks.
