I have Squid Axon and 329 Phase / Flange for sale, both original white/gold panel if anyone's interested, can send WW free shipping..

both really cool modules btw, though none are essential for what i do right now.

Quick update on my hyperchaos deluxe, I went to build another one this morning and discovered, instead of a DG202/212 I had installed a DG411?? In its place, don't ask me how that happened :despair: hahah.. So I just replaced it with a DG202 and now I'm getting the response I was looking for, which is, fast when jack in rate, slow when nothing in rate.. Signals are very similar however.. So basically, if you want your hyperchaos to run fast, all the time without anything patched into rate and for it to act as sort of a chaotic burst generator with a positive gate, use a DG411! Anyhow I think I prefer it with the DG202 so I'm keeping it that way.

Hey! I think I just bought a Plague of Demons from you. Scoped out your seller page, and wow...a bunch of NLC. I might buy another one soon-ish, depending on if I have monies left after filling the necessary holes in my beginner-ish rack.

Unfortunately I have to pay a large dentist bill so selling off a few modules I'm not using in my rack, the ones in the photo here however will likely not be leaving, my favorite NLC modules: Neuron, Dual LFO/VCO, Hypster, Hyperchaos, 8 bit cipher, arseq, 1/n, divine cmos, statues, shat-noir phaser, clump, sloth DK, VCAs (nice fuzz), and of course the triple sloth.. Other NLC modules I've made that i'll never get rid of (in another case): Beat freq & cellular automata..

From Perth to Seattle in an unreasonably speedy 9 days, I just hooked up a shiny new (pre-assembled because I have no SMT chops) 1U Pills and a Splosh next to my Sloths.

Pills is UNRULY! The "everything affects everything" in the description is less an observation than a warning....or a threat. Even plugging an unpatched cable can drastically change the sounds. Really fun torturing the PLLs listening to them attempt to track each other. For generating audio it seems to need an offset patched into CV Range inputs or else it just farts along.

Fun stuff!

I'm new to DIY electronics and sourcing components so please forgive my ignorance. Most NLC build documents call for choosing suitable resistor values for LED brightness. Is is safe to always assume a source voltage of 12v(or is it something different?) or do I need to use the schematics to calculate voltage drops?
Also can Kobiconn style jacks be swapped out for Thonkiconn Jacks or is the pcb connection different?

Yes, assume 10-12V for the LEDs......unless it is driven by a CV.
Just test your LEDs with 12V and select a resistor to give it a brightness level you like. These days I always use diffused LEDs and tend to use 4k7 for red and 10k for green, pink or blue. Clear lens LEDs are often quite sharp to look at and may need a much higher value resistor to make them dim enough to be comfortable.

Also, yes Thonkiconns are fine for any NLC modules.
When many of the build guides were written (and PCBs designed), Thonkiconns were not easily available.

Thanks! Can't wait to build the modules.

Are there any NLC modules that focus on brownian/drunk CV movements? Like the two drunks parasites mode in tides, or the drunk object in max?

No, I am working on a module that simulates muscular movement/spasms in the tummy before and during a poo tho.

oh hell yes. eurorack needs more intestinal based cv sources.

Will this use your classic black-box design?
Or do you have a newer "brown box" in the works? ;)

Is there a difference between the NLC Neuron and the modduladdict Version except that it is "doubled"?
