Headphone Output without a specific Headphone module

Post by NewSynthOnTheBlock » Fri Feb 14, 2020 8:22 am

:despair: Hey guys,

since I am lacking of a specific output module with HeadPhone Out
I was curious if just a VCA does the job too.

Ok, it fails in terms of the stereo ring-tip-thing of my Headphone plug I guess.
Means, there is only one side hearable.
I ve tried some VCAs Filters eg and suddenly one works:
My ADDAC 202 preAmp gives a nice and very loud MONO signal on both side of my headphone. I ve tried different HPs and all are working.

But WHY???????

I mean, it just satisfies my needs of a night modular session without turning my computer on.
I was tend to buy a speific outputmodule just for this case.
But now I can use my preAmp Module which is not a dedicated HP PreAmp.

Any thoughts?

Cheers

Didn't take a look on the site, but is there any chance the ADDAC has stereo outs?

Food for thought; when anyone here is going to read HP out, we're thinking in terms of a HighPass Filter output. I don't know if there's a proper Acronym for Headphones.

Good thoughts. Thx!
Stereo could be. Just wrote addac and waiting for feedback.
Thanks for the advice with HP= Highpass instead of Headphones :)
Will change that.

You can buy little mono mini jack (male) to stereo mini jack (female) adapters, and use those as a cheap and cheerful way to connect to the output of modules....just use attenuation before turning it up!

Not an acronym, but less letters: cans
