Making a Mu-Tron type filter in euro?

Post by loydb » Wed Mar 25, 2020 11:09 am

Has anyone played with making a Mu-Tron/Q-Tron style filter in Euro? I'd like to patch my bass in to the euro world.

do you mean diy? or patching?

it's essentially just a low pass filter controlled by an envelope follower, which is following the volume of the input

a simple implementation would be

instrument -> Doepfer a119

Doepfer a119 audio out -> filter input
Doepfer envelope out -> filter cutoff

filter out -> mixer (or whatever)

put pretty much any filter you like the sound of in the chain as filter

other instrument interfaces are available, with and without envelope followers included - other modules can do envelope following

Your sig makes it look like you might curious to actually make one... the thread has died a little, but hopefully the project from last year will come back to life at some point...

@agawell I meant DIY, but thanks for the patching notes as well, I will play around with it.

@butter Thanks! I have a bunch of 2044s someplace, it looks like an interesting project.
