Hello.
I just tryed the new firmware 1.3, and all the wav algorythm( in dual mode ) are still unplayable. I take the J6 as exemple, the module is freezing, lagging, or cuting when we change parameter on the fly like the enveloppe lenght for exemple...
Other exemple when you select J3 the module freeze and we have to reboot it. All the glitch and bug i reported about dual mode algorithm in the previous version are not fixed in 1.3 and still there 🤷🏻‍♂️

J3 locks up my Disting EX as well, thanks for pointing that out.

What make/model SD card came with yours?

This is using 2 Distings:
Disting MK4 with the shift register F6 algorithm (Turing machine) sequences the Disting EX using the eight voice polyphonic sample player with Spitfire drums samples from the SD card. I never thought I would sequence drums with a turing machine!

Can anyone check if Disting EX fits into Intellijell Palette?

ES website says:
"Module depth: 50mm"

Palette manual says:
"324.4 x 204.4 x 51.3 (mm)
(58.5 mm high, when including rubber feet/jacks)"

So it seems to be okay, but it would be great to see those coupled

Maybe try a nylon washer or two between the module and your rack if needed? Not the prettiest, but a decent fix for a unit as handy as the EX. I know I've got several modules that stand out a millimeter or so from the rest on their own already.

How you liking the Panharmonium?
Still learning my gear, but it is at the heart of everything I do. Not sure why people complain about it sounding like lo-fi MP3s. It sounds wonderfully rich and layered to my ears.

Also, re: backlogs and queues, I randomly emailed Analogue Haven about a month ago to see if they had a queue for preorders, and he sent an email back saying that they had just gotten a shipment that day, and would email be back when they were ready. Woke up to an email saying they were available with a link to the product page. Placed the order, and it arrived a few days later.

Sadly, as I am new to modular and still learning the ropes, it has gotten very little use. I like the immediacy of the rest of my modules, but am still wrapping my head around the menu diving on the Disting. Cannot even fathom trying to learn on the MK4.

I’ll go one further: My primary intended use case for the Panharmonium is so that I can recreate aspects of those moments in the mid-to-late 90s when mp3 streaming would glitch out in just the right way and produce something extremely musical. Those sounds from before “stutter edit” became an intentional thing in its own right, and with its own plugins and such, still have a special place in my memories.

(That said, if there’s a module that aims at that sound more explicitly, with lower latency and more direct CV control over what would be needed in order to conjure up those more musical of mp3 stream drop-outs, I’ve not seen it in my travels and would love to be pointed in the right direction.)

I know a bunch of y'all are still waiting, so you'll be happy to hear Detroit Modular has them in stock as of an hour ago (accounting to their Instagram post). Can't imagine they'll last long...

Perhaps the upcoming QuBit Data Bender should be on your radar?

Can you have last state(algorithm, settings, z knob...) after power off and on?

Also wondering this! Hopefully it's something simple I skipped in the manual

Fairly certain this is covered with the presets system no?

From the product page:
  • Header for 5-pin DIN MIDI via a compatible breakout.
  • Header for connecting FHX-8CV or FHX-8GT expanders.
  • Header for connecting an ES-5 expander.

I just received my Disting Ex and I'm having loads of fun with it already. The multisample algorithm is phenomenal!

I don't know if this is the right thread, but after a couple of hours of playing around there were two features I started longing for. Don't know how possible either of them are:

1) Instead of output 3 being a gate, it would be cool to have some customisation options for outs. For instance, sending all notes below a custom threshold to the left stereo output and all those below to the right, or just to send each gate/cv pair to a different mono out.

2) Related to this, it would be cool to be able to do a sample pack split so that all cv below a user-defined note (e.g. C4) would trigger sample pack A and all those above would trigger sample pack B. This would mean, for instance, that I could have a low, droning choir happening at the same time as some mid/upper range noodling on the piano. Or even a three way split given the three input pairs?

@aragorn23 Good suggestions. I really like the first one. A user assignable note range to the mono output would be cool.

you can already do the second idea by creating a sample folder that contains the samples in your split. It is just a matter of renaming them using the disting ex naming system to set up a split just how you want it. I've done one and it works.

Yes, there are multiple ways to achieve this. See Settings>General section in manual :)
