Excited to know more details!
Re: Expert Sleepers disting EX
Whoa! So cool.
Re: Expert Sleepers disting EX
Sounds great! The "disting effect" eh? lol.
Re: Expert Sleepers disting EX
He said somewhere that its a full polysynth and even has built in juno-style chorus
Re: Expert Sleepers disting EX
Hell yes!
Re: Expert Sleepers disting EX
It's a complete synth voice, with its own envelopes, lfos, and FX.
Re: Expert Sleepers disting EX
My Faderfox EC4 is going to come in VERY handy.

Re: Expert Sleepers disting EX
Today I realised that I need a second Disting EX! I've been heavily using many of the dual algos, the Multi-Switch algo (which is amazing!!). And The multi sample algo to trigger drums, and i still feel there is so much more to explore. I know that a lot of people in the past said that this is more of a useful rather than a fun module, but personally, as I've grown more familiar with the interface, I learned to enjoy it.And now with the poly algo forthcoming , I think a second EX is in order!

Mine arrived and been learning it. Great module that does a lot and sounds nice but frustrating encoder experience with menu diving.

Same! Just ordered another one. Up to now I’ve been using my EX alongside two Mk4s but the way the single mode algos are developing together with the improvements in navigation that come with the better screen means the Mk4s need to step aside now.

Thanks and will spend time getting into it. The wave shaper and FM VCO sound great and lots of features in small module.

Re: Expert Sleepers disting EX
Just threw together a basic touchosc interface for the looper algo.
Didn't want to put all the parameters on there so stuck with the performance basics.
This is the first test using 3 loops generated by Marbles/Plaits.

Finally took the time to explore the Dual Wavetable. Fed it four inputs from Sinfonion chord out, various modulation into Z (wavetable scanning), and went through every wavetable it comes with. I'm beyond pleased with it. Sounds great, and I was able to get great modulation out of many of the tables... finding lots of sweet spots. Overall, just sounds great, and so nice to have up to 4 v/oct inputs and up to 4 outputs (using each side of the EX).

Re: Expert Sleepers disting EX
I am getting the hang of it and will print out the manual and algorithm sheets and keep them near my system to go through it. So far the bit crusher, ping pong delay, FM VCO, pulsar VCO, and wave shaper are really super awesome! Well done Expert Sleepers! A true masterpiece for what this small module can achieve. I think it is the swiss army champ of modular next to Ornament and Crime and Dust of Time but I have not used these other modules.

Re: Expert Sleepers disting EX
Are the dual playback alogs I7 / I8 in the dual mode meant to play samples on their own without any triggers coming in? For some reason the Disting is playing samples on its own. I can still trigger the samples on demand by sending trigger to X and or Y but in between my triggers the samples still play on their own.
Re: Expert Sleepers disting EX
All the mk4/dual mode algorithms loop by default, largely for historical reasons. If you don't want that, you need to create a playlist with the -loop=0 flag.
Re: Expert Sleepers disting EX
Thanks for clarifying. Can the playlist.txt be in the root of the SD card to affect all the sample folders, or should it be placed in each individual folder?
Re: Expert Sleepers disting EX
It needs to be in each folder.
Re: Expert Sleepers disting EX
Each folder needs it's own playlist - you may not want the same settings for each folder. There's a section on page 80 of the disting user manual worth a read that explains it all.
EDIT: Sorry, missed os's reply!

Dropping playlist.txt file containing
-loop=0
-gap=0
-fadeIn=0
-fadeOut=0
-retriggerOnSampleChange=0
did not do anything (samples still auto play). Looking at page 80 of disting mk4 manual... do I have to specify individual sample file names as well inside the playlist.txt?

Re: Expert Sleepers disting EX
Sold off the Disting mk4.. Disting EX here we go, anyone know it's available anywhere in the EU?
Re: Expert Sleepers disting EX
No, but you do have to have the header ('disting playlist v1').

Probably not today but any day now.bemushroomed wrote: ↑Tue Dec 15, 2020 9:35 amSold off the Disting mk4.. Disting EX here we go, anyone know it's available anywhere in the EU?
