Pointers: Shape = Equal power, Spawn mode = Mid-grain. Set buffer size very low, turn size up (it will not matter then), rate rather fast, no randomization anywhere. For doing something like in the video, sing only one pitch all the way.

If you turn up main feedback, one can make some very evil monsters speak.

@LDT - Awesome

@Os - Had some real fun with the Granulator last night. Great job! Was able to get good results from just having watched your first video once. Have been modifying parameters right on the module so far. Where can I find that editor for use with a PC?

Is the Disting Ex actually available for purchase anywhere in the US or Canada right now, or scheduled to be available in the near future?

Just a quick check: It is not possible to record/pause/play in the Looper mode with a trigger?
Edit: I can map a clock to one of the inputs, but not record?
Edit2: It's possible with MIDI, but apparently it's not possible with CV. Time to buy the MIDI breakout then..

Record is parameter 56, which you can map to a CV.

I got my Disting EX today, installed the latest firmware on it - but in multi-sample mode it's just ... it'll work for a few seconds, then just glitch out, audio drops out and distorts. Tried in two different cases. Is the SD-card to blame? Using the one that came with the module (Samsung 32 gig).

@daisuk Are you using midi or CV? If you are using CV increasing the gate offset has been suggested (parameter 49). Also if you are playing big chords maybe raise the Normalisation setting to 8 (parameter 52).

Hey! Thanks for the suggestion. :) I just copied the contents of the sd card over to a Sandisk Extreme SD card, and it's working fine now. :)

Hello Daisuk,
Its exactly what i reported the page before but no answer yet. I had no issue before on any previous firmware and with this one, the multisample mode is sadly unusable 🤷🏻‍♂️

This app is great for extracting wav files from Soundfont-files on Windows:

http://audio.clockbeat.com/sfZed.html

Just do the following after installing:

- Import Soundfont
- Save as SFZ
- You'll then be asked "save samples?" - click yes, and all the samples are saved in the folder you choose

Easy peasy. :)

Also, leaving a few useful Soundfont-resources in here, for future reference.

I'm trying to figure out a user-friendly workflow for loading Spitfire Audio samples (and other samples) onto my Disting's SD Card for SD Multisample Playback. I've watched the ES video here for converting .sf2 files. However, Spitfire Labs has their own proprietary format:

FYI: instead of running this script (which I found challenging), you can use the Polyphone application (free download) to run a conversion from .sf2 to .WAV: https://www.polyphone-soundfonts.com/do ... l-versions

I feel like I have looked all over the internet for some kind of forum discussion of this topic or basically a "Dummies Guide to Getting Spitfire Samples into the Disting EX", but alas, no luck. Or maybe, only purchased Spitfire samples can be had as WAV files?

Can someone walk me through it like I'm five years old? Like, from the point where I've downloaded a Spitfire Labs file to the point where I have a folder full of WAV files?

Thanks so much!!!

What kind of file format are they? I think I've seen Spitfire samples in .nki format, which means you can play them with Native Instrument's Kontakt. In that case, if you have Kontakt, you can sample the various instruments using the auto-sample feature of Disting Ex. Kind of a rough workaround though, but I have also been looking for ways to just extract wav files from .nki files - but no luck.

I have to say - I absolutely looove the multi-sample and the granulator - they're wonderful. So good I think I need a second Disting Ex to be able to use both at the same time.

Likewise, this 5 year old walkthrough would be invaluable for me!

Wondering if anyone has put one of these into the Moog cases? It would be a tight fit for sure but it might just make it.

Hellos Os

Thanks again for this amazing new update. The new granulator work so well.

I just have to report one bug.
The sd multisample his now unusable on my side.

I never had this issue before 🤷🏻‍♂️.
Here is the setup.
My midi keyboard into FH-2 USB linked with the Disting EX ( PCB cable 4pin)
And now when i use for exemple the preset piano 49 if you just do a stress test pressing just the same note alternatively in tempo at some point the sound start to lag with latency then stopping the sound , freezing then playing again and sometimes i have to restart the module cause general freeze.
I never had this problem on prévious others firmware.

Thanks in advance having a look on that.
I am also experiencing audio dropouts with the SD mulitisample with the new firmware 1.7.1. No sd multisample problems with version 1.6.3.
