Just finished my percussion modules, the sequencer needs some programming still.
The modules are designed and built by myself (very proud 👍🏻)

That looks great, and sounds really good to.
It reminds me of my PAIA days
I'm not sure what's going on, but, well ah crap..what now?

There's nothing wrong with "just buying stuff" in the pursuit of a creative endeavor. Nobody shames guitarists for not making their own guitars or filmmakers for not crafting their own cameras.

And there's an entire forum section here dedicated to DIY if that's your thing.

(And good luck to the OP, neat work, sorry to hijack your thread.)

Samples played through a teensy or similar? Really great work and a project I want to undertake myself.

The basedrum is synthesized, the other instruments are samples played through a Blue Pill STM32.
@rew_ fun is the main ingredient. I love designing modules for my synth, but I also have some modules of which I bought pcb’s.

In retrospect I thought that the bass drum (the most right module) stands out like a sore thumb so I made a new frontplate for it.

Curious, what modules do you have in your custom rack?

How do you like your sequencer? Curious if you have future plans for it, in software/features?

Who cares?! No one is debating there are fewer DIY enthusiasts, it's a strawman argument. Take your tsk-tsk-ing elsewhere.

You mentioned a breakout for the inputs?

Yes, after I “finished” this sequencer I realized that I forgot the inputs, so I designed a secondary panel with a trigger input (before I used a timer to create triggers) together with a pushbutton for advancing one step.
Also a sequence reset input was added so when a pulse is received the sequencer resets to the first step, and a clock output that gives a pulse for every step of the sequence.
And last I added a midi out (percussion only).

Software is a whole other ballgame since basicaly I’m a hardware person and programming is something I am a selfmade man and that is something I am still working on.

I understand. Hardware is also my strength, software not so much :D
Do you plan on making more modules for your custom rack?

A modular synth is never ready, it just runs out of cabinet space :)
Besides that, there are several modules in my synth that need attention, there is a digital version of the Appendage (a ribbon controller) waiting to be finished, and a SID module.
But, usually I don’t plan for modules, mostly I have the need for a certain function or signal source, and often in the middle of designing something my attention is drawn to something else...

I completely understand! Your ribbon controller sounds very interesting. I love SID too! Please keep posting as you make updates and add new modules. It is inspiring to see folks create for themselves!

Also I write at the diy section at Electro-music.com

Wow! I was not long ago thinking of taking the same road with STM32, looks very capable. Way to go!
