Mutable Instruments Rings. When I heard it I thought to myself that I would have purchased it in any format, at any time in my life, had I known about it. Such a cool sound it has and I don’t find that notion to be impared in any way by the hype or the thousands of examples of it being used for dull ambient.
New modular track with a ton of FM cross modulation and drum synthesis. 🔥

Mordax Data, felt like it should have been the first module going into eurorack.

Quite a few actually :

- Loquelic Iteritas : "who cares about melody, this is the alien noises I want to make"
- WMD Performance Mixer : most important module in my system.
- Verbos Complex Oscillator : "so this thing never sounds bad, right ?"

Frames. Absolute swiss army knife of a module.

I've been putting off getting one of these for years now. I know I'd love it... I just keep prioritizing other stuff, and then when I consider it again I don't have room in my case... :waah:

Klangbau Twin Peak Is one of my favorite modules in eurorack.

Other essentials for me:

4ms DLD
Pamela’s New Workout
Mutable Marbles

Also, The WMD Performance mixer really tied the system together and made a lot of things more convenient.

This 100%.

Rings was one of two things that blew me away when I first got into modular; the other was audio rate modulation in general (Microbrute modulated by Tides, at first). I felt like I'd kinda wasted the last few years by not getting into it sooner.

Rings for me as well. I remember getting it last year and not really “getting it”. Now that I have had it for sometime, it’s an indispensable tool for me.

I'd say a Turing Machine module -- my preference being the Greyscale Permutation. Every time I plug into the thing it spits out a really interesting melody. It's so great, it feels like cheating.

For me, they are oscillators: The Make Noise Mysteron and the Qu-Bit Scanned module.

I like the overall unpredictability and noisiness of both, plus plenty of cv shaping possibilities at play, then combining them? into a mixer? You get some weird timbres, constantly morphing distorted strangeness. I could just send them both a bunch of random voltages and build a whole sample bank from that alone. Which I am now going to add to my checklist of things to do this summer.

Vector sequencer, instantly making the sequences I want, favorite sequencer out of 5 or 6 I've bought and sold, insanely fun and powerful and controllable

I might be about to say this about Planar 2. The answer to "how did I live without it?" was faders, but I think this is going to lead to some great places.

Recently I have been feeling this way about the Hermod and doepfer polyphony subsystem as well as the Alyseum Matrix II. All new acquisitions I guess so maybe I am just excited. Planar 2 is next on my list.

Bit boring perhaps, but I'm still amazed by the versatility of Stages. It was the third (semi-) modular piece of gear I bought (after DFAM and 0-Coast) and I keep using it in different ways; envelope generating (obviously), clock dividing, sequencing, switching, slewing, subharmonics (maybe less obvious) generating.

To be fair, I'm only a eurorack enthusiast since beginning of last year, so every module I buy has that "where have you been?"-vibe. Currently I am extremely happy with my Hermod, recording all my decade old Ableton sketches as Midi into it.

If I had to pick one it would be the AJH RIng SM

Module is amazing, perfect mixer to sit next my furthrrrr generator.

Generates 2 sub octaves with very low harmonic content, 3 input ring mod, discrete transistor mixer based on the CP3 so drives wonderfully and be shaped asymmetrically, can double the first input to create a sine wave one octave up.

Honestly its one of the best modules I have ever bought, it completely blows me away everytime I use it.
