A through-zero FM VCO that is 4 hp?

Post by galanter2 » Sat Nov 14, 2020 1:23 pm

Subject pretty much asks the question. I’m looking for a through-zero FM VCO that is only 4 hp wide.

Even if out of production, if such a thing has existed I’d be interested in hearing about it.

I dont think theres any analog versions .

Sinc Iter By noise engineering is one (its technically phase modulation but really there's not much difference from what ive been told. Phase modulation and tzfm sound the same.

I got a feeling a bunch of them will be coming out in the next year because of the arrival of the SSI2130 IC , so that will make it cheaper and easier for manufacturers to design and make tzfm analog oscillators. http://www.soundsemiconductor.com/downl ... asheet.pdf

The new FM Aid - add your fav sound sources to taste : ) (I know this is not exactly the answer to the question..; ) but after having had one for a few days, all I can say is just buy it and enjoy : )))

The Doepfer A-111-3 might be the only analog oscillator in 4hp. Can't figure out if it's through zero though. Maybe someone here knows.

I have one in my case. Doesn’t seem to be.

no analog VCOs in 4hp or less that will do it yet, but maybe eventually because of the new SSI2130. Sinc Iter and Disting are the only options at the moment. at 8hp you have other options in A-110-4 and A-110-3 (analog) and FM Ogre and Twin Waves (digital)

FM Aid is *great* but requires another oscillator to feed its carrier input

Thanks for these ideas. I actually have a couple Disting, but missed the through zero bit!

The FM Aid looks pretty interesting. I’ll probably get one if I can find one.
