Love doubling up the Make Noise Mysteron (discontinued). With four-six gate sources and a lot of CV, you can get these plucky little wild things that have the potential to explode. Having two makes it easier to get some clear distinct rhythms going on.

I should have known better than to click on a thread with this title. Actually, I did know... I just clicked anyway!

Re: Best module to have twice
Currently racked:
2 x Happy Nerding 3x MIA
2 x Happy Nerding 6x Mix
2 x Panmix Jr.
2 x Noise Engineering Sinc Iter
2 x Intellijel Passive LPG 1U
3 x Shakmat Sumdif
3 x XOAC Tirana II
I have a few other modules that aren’t currently racked, but also constitute doubles or triples of my racked modules, but I’ll leave it at that.

Re: Best module to have twice
Since the day I racked up my angle grinder I’ve been struggling hard not to get another one. It does so many things and it’s good at all of those things.

+1 for this! Same with the Att-Off.
I think the first module I had two of was the Disting mk4. Also have three knob.farm hyrlo’s now.
Re: Best module to have twice

+1 on this. I've owned and sold a variety of (complex) oscillators, but I hold onto my two Dixies. They are simple, solid and reliable. I could use a second STO, too.
Re: Best module to have twice
I have 1 MI Stages, but I can imagine having another one.

Re: Best module to have twice
Drum modules are great in pairs or even in greater quantities, so I will also vote for more Mysterons, SY0.5's etc.
Re: Best module to have twice
So do I, and I've bought and sold and traded countless filters without any of them getting close. Lovely filter.
Someone higher up said 'Not Pressure Points', with the reasoning being tuning all those columns of knobs, but I disagree. I have one PP, and most of the time I use it to manipulate the rise and fall times on one channel of Maths, and then I can't sequence it. I'm looking for a second PP.

Re: Best module to have twice
Just curious - what does the STO do that the Dixie can't? Is it the S-Gate, or the simultaneous linear and exp FM?

Re: Best module to have twice
I use the variable shape circuit a lot, patched through a filter and modulated with S-Gate. It wish it had an octave switch like Dixie.closedLoop wrote: ↑Thu Dec 03, 2020 8:43 amJust curious - what does the STO do that the Dixie can't? Is it the S-Gate, or the simultaneous linear and exp FM?

Re: Best module to have twice
I had 4x Tiptop ONEs in my rack for a few years. I mainly used them for drum voices and sometimes as CV sources.

Frap 333 and 321
Re: Best module to have twice
the only modules I have multiple copies of are:
T43 by VPME, it's just great to perform with and create new melodies on the fly by flipping switches.
FX Aid is the other module I have 2 of, as far as FX goes it's the holy grail I think and in just 4hp.

Re: Best module to have twice
I own two Intellijel Mixup, two FX Aid (too many cool effects to to have just one) and two Disting Mk4.
I plan to get another Ornament&Crime to double the CV utilities I have available in my system, other good candidates to get a twin sometimes in the future are the Bubblesound Booster Stage, the Ladik S-090 and Plaits.
And with the rate at which new algorythms are added I guess a third FX Aid will be inevitable.

Re: Best module to have twice
Mixup and FX Aid are two fine examples of duplicity, Plaits is ace too.
Re: Best module to have twice
Off the top of my head, any utilities like attenuators/attenuverters, multiples, mixers, etc.
In my dreams;
Pamela’s New Workout (love the timed LFOs)
Plaits or Braids (so many options. I could see myself having a rig with lots of them)
Ornament + Crime (again, lots of options)
Disting
Turing Machine (I use it for both note cv and modulation)
