Re: Best module to have twice
I've got three μO_C modules. So versatile.
I've also got two Westlicht Performers. I use one for melodic voice sequencing and one strictly for percussion. Works like a dream

FX AID by Happy Nerding
So many effect algorithms to choose from so there’s a big benefit of having two (or three) of them so you can load them all up.

The space you occupy determines the time that you live in.

I have two Xaoc Tallin - Probably the nicest sounding VCA's I've heard...warm, and has a nice overdrive.

Re: Best module to have twice
I just bought my second Tiptop Smart VC-Oscillator so I can do that thing with two saw-waves.
Re: Best module to have twice
Aside from buffered mults, no duplicates. These are the most likely candidates for 2nds:
Plaits, o_C, FX Aid XL
Plaits, o_C, FX Aid XL

Re: Best module to have twice
Interesting to see what 'clicks' for different people, and is worth a second unit.
My doubles...
Two CalTrans
Two Lapsus Os
Two Veils (one knobs, one sliders)
Two DATA (one in a portable rack)
Several Expert Sleepers ESX-8CV provide 'CV outs' from ES-9 via ES-5. My setup is deeply hybrid, atm.
Several Expert Sleepers ESX-8GT provide 'gate outs' from ES-9/ES-5. Again, for some sequencing from Max/MSP.
Two Nearness
Two MATHS (1-black, 1-silver. one in portable rack)
Two Vermona qMI 2 MIDI->CV interfaces (same)
Two 1U DVCA by ALA (which is basically half of a Veils)
Two Instruo/DivKid øchd
And duplicates of some buffered mults, too.

Re: Best module to have twice
Just about to build my second Zlob Diode Chaos. 6 chaotic LFOs and two random triggers in 6hp.
Haven't doubled up on anything else, although I'm very tempted to get a second uO_C so I can run both standard firmware and hemisphere.

Re: Best module to have twice
Didnt think i would....but im digging having two stages. With the alt firmware and all that i could get rid of a lot of single function modules that werent doin it for me but i had to keep around out if necessity

Re: Best module to have twice
Stages. That's my only duplicate in 563 HP.
I've generally considered myself theoretically opposed to buying a module more than once (other than super basic utilities like mults and attenuators), as I love the diversity of approaches, sounds, etc in modular. That being said, Stages is my vastly preferred ADSR+ EG, so having more than one of those available was a priority. I also really like to use S&Hs to tie random modulation to note triggers. Any leftover segments get used as LFOs. Occasionally, I use a few for sequential switching. It's absurdly useful; I could see myself getting a third.

Re: Best module to have twice
Either Mutable Stages, or Instruo Vinca
Stages is so versatile, and having two of them allows you to have a lot of options.
Vinca is very much like an Optomix but can be chained and used as a mixer as well.

Used to prefer diversity and different things but over time I’ve moved to stuff I love to use. Duplicates here are:
Pam’s NW
VM-1S
VCO2RM
SM-1
Mixup
Shades
Love then all!

Re: Best module to have twice
I have 2x O&C as well - versatile and immensely powerful. Can fill a need or fulfill a function in pretty much any patch.
Further: 2x PP and 2x A-188.
Apart from that, I like to diversify. Even in utilities, some will have a different emphasis or do a little something the others don't, and vice versa (eg, MIA, Frap 321, Shades).

Don't believe the hype.

+1 on Mutable Stages. I think I'll get a third someday. So pretty all in a row.

Re: Best module to have twice
I have two HappyNerding FX AIDs. One is the original the other the XL. I use the original for more end of chain stuff like reverb/delay and the XL for more flavorful stuff. I am thinking of getting one more maybe.
