Re: Mutable Instruments Beads (Clouds 2)
For those of you still itching for delivery of your Beads, something to sooth (or perhaps increase) your want:
Full patch notes detailed on SC. Fwiw I know folks absolutely loved the reverb on Clouds and, appreciating this might be approaching blasphemy here, I'm not a fan of the reverb on either. However it is an absolutely astounding module that sits (for me) somewhere between a Phonogene and an Echophon. So I've used all three here. Pitch-shifted segments and snippets all over the shop. Love it.

On a waiting list for April/May. ADDAC112 should be out by then too, so it'll be interesting to see how they compare.
Re: Mutable Instruments Beads (Clouds 2)
Mine just got dropped off by FedEx. Should I go get it or keep reading about it?

Re: Mutable Instruments Beads (Clouds 2)
I just ordered Beads from a Latvian shop on Reverb. Don't suppose anyone has ordered from this place? https://reverb.com/shop/dailystudiosolutions
They seem legit. And shipping seems slightly faster than current "early May" ETA's here in the states for the next batch :-)

Got my Beads today, and really love the interface of it. So easy to navigate and use, yet so complex. It's a shame we won't see more modules from Emilie, loving the form factor of these newer modules.

Don't worry, they're a real shop. Bought a Zen delay there last year and everything went fine.jwo wrote: ↑Tue Feb 23, 2021 12:29 pmI just ordered Beads from a Latvian shop on Reverb. Don't suppose anyone has ordered from this place? https://reverb.com/shop/dailystudiosolutions

I actually like the new reverb and it would be cool to have the option to switch both. Also, more important to me, it would great if I could set the reverb to affect the "wet" signal only, unlike now that is always working. Or is this already possible...?

Re: Mutable Instruments Beads (Clouds 2)
No sadly not, it's both 'wet' and 'dry' combined and only combined. You'd need to use Beads on an aux from a mixer and set it to full Beads-wet for that.
Those are some odd sentences but hopefully you know what I mean(!).

Odd choice, it would be nice to add reverb to grains/wet signal only.

Re: Mutable Instruments Beads (Clouds 2)
Assuming that by "choice" you actually mean choosing one approach or the other, it's not odd at all given how easy it is to mix full dry and full wet outside the module with a mult cable and a mixer, and that you wouldn't be able to add reverb to the dry signal via patching if the module only applied to wet. This way YOU still have a choice. If you are referring to her ability to "choose" "both" via a button combo ... sure, but personally, I hate button combos ... I ignore them and, best I can, modules in which you can't ignore them
Re: Mutable Instruments Beads (Clouds 2)
Actually if you set the module to “fully wet” the verb is only applied to the granulated sound. The good news is that backing off the mix control a tad allows enough “dry” to come through to activate the reverb.

Re: Mutable Instruments Beads (Clouds 2)
Yes, I meant that, it's an approach that personally I don't like as 90% of the time I would like to use that reverb only on the wet signal, and I don't think it is that easy to set up an aux channel if you don't have space/a free channel/a mixer module. A long press on the reverb button to switch mode would take a couple of seconds instead, and even a button combo would be something you would only use once in that scenario.buyingitwontmakeucool wrote: ↑Tue Feb 23, 2021 7:27 pmAssuming that by "choice" you actually mean choosing one approach or the other, it's not odd at all given how easy it is to mix full dry and full wet outside the module with a mult cable and a mixer, and that you wouldn't be able to add reverb to the dry signal via patching if the module only applied to wet. Also, I guess you would still be able to use the reverb on the dry signal by setting Beads to full wet, without using seed, density to 0 ecc...
Re: Mutable Instruments Beads (Clouds 2)
On the original clouds, the reverb was only applied to the granulated signal (ie before the dry / wet mix). I believe the parasites firmware then changed this order, to apply the reverb after the wet dry mix. So Beads operates differently from the original Clouds but is consistent with the parasite firmware behavior.

Re: Mutable Instruments Beads (Clouds 2)
Totally get your view. Just want to clarify that I wasn’t referring to an aux channel on a mixer. I meant a stackable and a 2HP mixer (for mono at least)
