Trying to find space for All-New Sport Mod - made a bit more confusing now I'm factoring in 12 hp's worth of space for Multifilter 2.

Yeah, that looks great! Makes me want to start patching immediately. The one before felt a bit convoluted. So will 12 HP remain to be your template now including the new Multifilter? :)
:) yeah, this project has been helpful in that regard, *one* of my main gripes about euro as a format format has always been the size- even before we all started using SMD and squishing things down into tweezer territory (the other gripe is the wack standards) I made a 10HP multifilter 2 prototype last year.. too cramped. 12HP it tis. That PCB is nearly done already.
Love it! I have to admit, my excitement is partly informed by compulsive tendencies when it comes to module arrangement, however the lack of playability (including patching) is my main concern when it comes to tightly spaced jacks and controls. I suppose I should have gone Serge from the beginning, but I am too invested into my Euro synth to change formats. It’s fantastic to see modules in the pipeline that don’t compromise on playability too much, let alone meaningful updates of two of my absolute favorites. :)

Why cater to people moaning about modules being too big? The scale of Eurorack affords wider designs, among other things. If someone really wants a module, size shouldn't be a deterrent.

Get another case. Switch out or sell little/never used modules. So, now I'm addressing consumers (I being very much one).

ya know what? fuckit,Screen Shot 2021-03-20 at 7.10.59 PM.png this is the new and close to final layout. I played with this physically and the jacks are better served grouped together more.. I can't take all jacks at the bottom or whatever so I think this is the best compromise.. yeah it could be squished down to 10HP but it's just way too tight to interpatch. the switch above the comparator output was reserved for one of 2 things.. but i think it ought to be the 'random source' patch on a switch because patching that in this jack config is kinda crazy :0 anyway= i been raring to go on the layout so now I can get started. :foul: this has been a good excercise in reacquainting my hands with eurorack.
This looks great. Don't have much to add except that I can't wait for pre-order to be available!

I'm glad you're not caving to the trend of miniaturization. For me it's really not about one size being fundamentally better or worse, it's really about ergonomics and live playability and that is where the Sport Mod has always shined, so I'm glad that seems to remain a priority.

Super pleased that this is finally coming together.

Just re-watched the James Cigler demo to remind myself of all the ways I’ll be using this!
Haha I don't know how many times I have watched that video
Definitely one of my all time favorite demos! Also the sounds he uses are really tasteful and inspiring too

Embedded here for posterity

Yes they are actually very musical which is rare in video of module’s demo. I often listen to the last patch just for the pleasure!

Looks hella good! My ocd is a bit triggered by the visual misalignment of the knobs & lcd’s with the jacks.

I am late to the party but really excited about new Toppobrillo modules !
The Multifilter is and stays awesome. Used in every patch. Thinking of getting a third one.

Have wanted a Sport Modulator for years. Please, no minipots, stay big :-) And the latching switches are great. Hope to see it at retailers later this year.

yay! yeah I'll be using toggle switches in this iteration. layout is coming along. I've improved the droop rate considerably, not that it was bad before, but this allows me to squeeze more top-end out of it. Haven;t started sourcing parts yet- hope this Suez canal fiasco doesn't impede production, anything is possible at this point tho!
