That's enough control I reckon
If only there was some dang way to know for sure how much of any given module type you would need huh

How will you fit your Joranalogues in the second row? They are currently overlapping each other.

Also, only one Mimeophon now, sacrilegious! What happened there? ;)

Also, you dumped the 2 Happy Nerding 3xVCAs I suggested, why? I thought you were finally going in the right direction!
The Joranalogues are just a wierd picture, they don't overlap.
One mimeophon had to go, and after adding two more 3x vca for a total of 4, and staring at them for an hour,
I just decided that I don't want them

WHO ARE WE TO JUDGE?
I totally agree with your sentiment, but OP did ask to be judged (twice).

Asking for advice and then arrogantly ignoring it, is just the height of bad manners.

A man of commitment and an iron will to make decisions ... this is how it has to be in this tough business. Those VCAs have had their chance in this competative environment but have not withstood the scrutinizing gaze. Out you go!

Literally the worst way to build a modular is to lay everything out before touching it instead of organically filling in the functions/roles as time goes on, you aren't going to make anything that suits you this way, would be happy to eat my words on this but holy fuck that is one of the most hideous and unusable looking setups that is obviously the byproduct of never actually touching a modular.

I would like to know what happens when this rack ends up with one of those annoying little gaps you get sometimes. Or certain modules will not sit next to each other because of screw hole configuration or "tolerances" or the way the power cables are placed. Symmetry denied. ;)

Not bad, make the vcas disappear by gazing at them... Your system is going to fail you, there will no techno come out of it. Since you are willing to pay tons of many -> get an erica synths techno system and another one of their ready to go ones, then you will at least achieve some goals...

Difficult to know where to start, or what to say :hmm:

So much advice offered, almost all of it ignored

And no small amount of self-contradiction

it just that i never was able to plan anything in small pieces,
but i have no problem with designing huge complex systems, down to every small detail.
And yet this project is causing you so many problems. Hmmmmm... :hmm:

i don't like the idea of a few different thing all controlling one thing,
i just want to twist knobs until something cool would happen
This - above all - suggests to me, that modular may not be for you and that what you really want is a more traditional "in the box" (ITB) synthesizer. Maybe an Arturia Maxibrute, Novation Summit, Korg Prologue, Moog One, ASM Hydrasynth, Prohet X or maybe all of them together - after all: you have the money (honey). Maybe spend the change on a nice Sequentix Cirklon to drive them - order today and you might just get one by the time you're 45 :hihi:

The Quad LFO has level control, i also have 4x Cascade's in there which are attenuverter/mixer/offset,
So a total of 12 channels + 2x Plancks II (Mutable Instruments Frames)
That's enough control I reckon
OK, maybe I was wrong. You sound like you have it all under control now and the time for talk is over. Time to start buying all those lovely modules :hyper:

...i did mixed alot of different bands back in the day, before i sold my company.
i used to do it all, lights, sound, power distribution and video projections.
but now, i only program and run light shows, i don't even bring a single cable with me,
and i make even more money now than when i had my company with a huge warehouse and 3 trucks.

I want to applaud your decision to remove 4 VCA from your 600 HP system, this is how you show this board of haters how you adhere to a style manual.

Also, I want to confess that I secretly always thought that all the triangles on the block diagram made it looked weird and would always set off my OCD and just want to applaud you for having the balls to make it all squares. I always wanted to remove them but was blinded by the convention of the circuit working but I have now seen how i lacked vision thanks to your example.

Fellow Muffs should know such conviction.

Now sir, get off the internet and go buy your dream synth so you can expedite the process of making the sound come out and not further encumber yourself w the negative opinions of all the people here demanding conventions like VCA's in your dream rack.

MAKE THE SOUND COME OUT! WHO ARE WE TO JUDGE!

The doepfer monster case has so many power headers, so power will not be a problem,

+ RND STEP by DivKid, that is what I call controlled mayhem :sb:

I had a company were I basically worked for big dj's,
they would book the shows, and i brought their gear + my own pa and lights,
The dj's will then just show up and everything was set up for them,
Meaning that I didn't had to deal with costumers.
The name was b.t.s, the initials of my name and my 2 friend.
And by selling it, i meant all of the gear, who want to anyone willing to pay

btw, Modular Jam is awesome. love it's soundscape

I have tried marbles on vcv rack and really didn't like it, maybe in real life it's much batter,
But the o&c has a turing machine in it if i'll want more randomness.
Could be that i'll be missing out,
But... with the Stochastic Inspiration Generator, RND STEP, VC Stochastic Function Generator and STEPS...
I think it's already a ton of randomness for one system :hihi:

Not what OP was talking about. Sometimes certain models can't go next to each other because of the positioning of their power outlets relative to the module next to them.

Selling a bunch of used DJ equipment that has inherent value is so incredibly not the same as "starting a company and then selling it" lmao
