Hi,
the internet is full of demo videos and tutorials of different modules, live jams or explaining the basics. But are there any tutorials that cover a creative process with the modular, classic combinations of different modules, how to create specific sound XY, etc. Like DivKids module overviews but with more modules involved, the modules doenst matter, the combination of functions count. Just saying something like that would be great, to get beginners a bit more up to speed and for all the others to learn different approaches apart from what we have taught ourselves by experimenting.

If this has been done please point me in the right direction :nana:

I recently spent all my energy to make the most complete tutorial on the Double andore MKII.
Hope this could help understand how powerful this module can be

Every video I have ever done has been a combination of modules patched together to create a working system for music creation.
I have never made a video simply focusing on just one module as I'm more interested in modular as a creative force in which the sum is greater than the parts.
To this end I always try to feature actual finished pieces.

Sadly that means none of my vids are in this thread... :waah:

New poster/member/made my first few patches with a better understanding on me and my bandmate/fiancee/partner in crime's combined setup (effects pedals, two Eurorack cases, Beatstep, a few Volcas, DMG, Microbrute, TX-7... A lot of it is hers, but I've brought a few things to the party in the Volca Series, Gameboys, Effects Pedals, VolcaFM presets/etc)... I'm apparently ok with jamming on our setup's current configuration, at least a bit, finally.

But yes, thank you. Informative thread. Can't wait until I get more use of the forum.

I'll go to the posting your own content forum once possible.

I dk if there is an intro forum yet, but hi.... We're Devious Xen. Experimental musician, noisemaker, LSDJ, Ableton, Logic, synths from our setup, pedals, CV controlling them with the modular, putting a Rainbow Machine on various nonsense/ambient doom conceptual music that combines a stream of consciousness style with my current evolving theory knowledge and strange scenes.

Great thread.

Hey there!

Is it alright if I use this list for a blog post on Nerdaudio.com as a part of the NerdyNews.

I was just blown away because I have been looking for a list like this and when I finally found it I was really excited.

Nonetheless, let me know if it will be ok to share this on the blog post for Modular Monday.

Thank you!

absolutely. the only problem is that the list hasn't been updated in a while.

i'm going to use this as an opportunity to explain where things are and solicit advice on moving forward. i've started this list long 6 years ago. back then there were less modules and much less videos, and i used to check every video before adding it to the list. eventually it got to the point where i automated at least pulling the video list from the YT API (never got around to doing the same for Vimeo) which saved me a lot of time but there is still the task of sorting through the list, vetting videos, populating proper maufacturer / module names etc.

a list like this one will lose relevance very quick if it's not kept up to date. unfortunately, at this point i just don't have the resources to keep updating it. if anybody is willing to take over i will give you the permissions to update the spreadsheet (or will make you the owner, if that's an option) and can provide you with a list of YT/Vimeo channels to watch and some help in setting up YT API integration.

alternatively, or in addition to the above i could just provide edit access to anybody who is interested in updating the list (module manufacturers, people creating videos). perhaps this could be turned into a community curated resource?
