Yes!!! This is going to be amazing! Perhaps too early to ask this but is there a euro version planned?

good news - hopefully it stays at the same pricetag than the kit sold by Zthee or cheaper, but not more expensive.

Does anyone know if MM74C150N will work? Maybe someone here knows where to find MM74C150? Thanks!

I’m pretty sure MM74C150N is the right part. The N suffix is just Fairchild’s order code for it. Search up the datasheet for confirmation (I’ve just looked but don’t take my word for it)

I am building one of these kits and my touch panel is not working .... when keyboard is on, all LEDs are on.

It works fine in clocked mode when keyboard is shut OFF.

Pulse into RESET causes everything to freak out... it doesn't reset to 1.

anyone has some ideas, I'd appreciate it!

Try fiddling with the SENS trimmer

I don't think that is the issue, full range of the sense trimmer makes no difference. Also, I don't think that would explain the reset misbehavior?

RESET doesn't work the way you expect

right, it hits the preset enable pin of that one counter... I'm not sure how that works at all. In any case, at the limit of the sense pot, half the LEDs turn on and then slowly the rest turn on.

Maybe I should try a bigger trimmer for sensitivity?

I compared some of the input/outputs on the MM74C150 against my ARC TKB and they look quite similar.

will try following things forward tomorrow if the trimmer doesn't change anything.

I don't know if this will apply to yours, but when I built mine I got all sorts of funky, unexplained LED behavior that wound up being caused by a small blob of solder touching the inside of one of the panel holes (like the small cutouts for soldering things to the underside of the touch pad). This was a few years ago, so I can't quite remember the specifics, but I remember it was a pain to fix because it was under the touch pad. I think I ended up sliding pieces of electrical tape under all of it to make sure everything was isolated.

Pin 10 (output) of 74c150 is completely dead even isolated from the circuit,

So I take it my 74c150 is dead.... unless someone suggest otherwise.

Dang!

It looks like my 74c150 is also dead. Does anyone know where to get a replacement? Maybe Jon still has some?

I have used these people on several occasions, with no problems at all:

I made little PCB which protects the MM74C150 from dying. It simply clips onto the 16 flat cable and you connect two wires to plus and minus of the PSU.

I don't have enough posts here yet to post pictures so picture soon incoming

I can post PCB or populated board to those interested

Best regards
