Hello onurkalaycioglu (and geremyf)
the kanagawa panel(s) are beautiful!
I'll probably send you some illustrator files soon-ish when I'm done designing them (haven't started yet, ideas are still in my head :) )
it's for a bunch of modules that have outstayed their makeshift cardboard and cd-case panels and deserve some real panels

Are these white panels with the front painted black, then engraved to expose the white lettering?. They look awesome!. I will certainly be ordering some for some of my upcoming custom modules! 8-)

Edit = What about a clear acrylic panel with the front painted black, then engraved, with LED's embedded into the back of the panel? sort of a light pipe design?... Like some of the avionics panels I work on.... that would be cool!... 8-) 8-) 8-)

ahoy, i'm interested in some panels.
but i need a template.
do you have a template in .jpg or .psd? or does the cutter only use vector art?
or is there a reference for the exact dimensions of the panels somewhere?
probably a dumb request but i don't have the exact position of panels / mounting holes.

+1 to your art looking great on those panels too.

i would probably be making 4, 6, or 8 hp stuff

@crustibooga
im glad you like your panels. in the future you should make your text bigger, different font, or a thicker stroke. thats why the text looks a little bit grey compared to the pot indicators.

@ehafh
no better resource than herr doepfer. read the second paragraph carefully. panels are not 3u long... but if that doesnt do it for you i can send you a .ai file full of different size blanks. unless you really want to draw it up yourself i have most every size of blank already drawn up so just tell me what you want and i can cut it for you.

doepfer construction details

sorry i missed your inquiry. you can pm me too if i miss thread stuff. those panels are actually 2 color/tone acrylic. in the case of crustibooga, black on white. so engraving into the black reveals the white. there are several different color combinations. you just have to look through inventables website. i only cut 1.8" thick though. could possibly work with painting the clear acrylic but youd have to find paint that wouldnt harm the laser when cutting or give off abnormally dangerous fumes. as far as ive seen theres no acrylic ready made like this though... although theres plenty of colored translucent/transparent acrylic to choose from.

Thanks for the reply and info. Your stock material of black on white as shown would work well. Just a couple of questions....

I just looked at the inventables website and I see they have 1/16" material available... can you engrave this? or is that too thin.

Can you engrave paper backed acrylic? I'm thinking of the Turing machine acrylic panels where you fill in the engraving with white paint, then peel away the paper backing... that would be great!

What format can you accept regarding the graphics? as someone asked above, jpg? PSD?,

Can you do a panel that's not eurorack? I'm working on a custom circuit bent synth and the panel will be aprox 12" x 4". Is that just based on the material available?

Thanks very much!

for the sake of illustration, how much would it be to etch 8 designs, say 8hp, and shipping to uk?

is mirrored or transparent red acrylic available?

Looks great greeensmaaan. Nice case too.

For all the people that have inquired recently about panels. I regretfully have to quit the custom lasering business and focus on zlob. I just don't have the time anymore as zlob has grown a lot over the past year.

Damn, I'm too late for this :bang: Anyway, for what it's worth, I'm looking for transparent acrylic blind panels, preferably fluorescent, something like what Os has here between the Disting and General CV (I thought I'd ask first in an on-topic thread like this one instead of pestering Os who's probably busy as hell):

I'd prefer something within EU as I'm in CZ. I'd rather avoid ordering minor stuff like this from overseas, but I'm not excluding it if someone's offering a great deal...

Cheers & thanks a lot :guinness:
