Yes indeed you can. The dc/dc converter only changed at Rev 6.finnurbjarna wrote: ↑Thu Sep 24, 2020 1:54 amCan't argue with that. I've opened the sequencer up now and my board is actually the REV 2 from May 2nd 2015.Can I still use that converter?

There's also an update showing some of the SMD etc on here https://www.dsl-man.de/display/TTSHADDONS/Arp1601
Thanks.

Does anyone have a good source for 17 Switchcraft 46313LDRX? Mouser is out of stock of them for now, and they would've been $2.90 per unit. Other distributors were more expensive, which at 17 adds up.
Re: ARP 1601 clone Build Thread
I believe DSL-Man/LED-Man may have a set of them. He’s in Germany though. I presume you are building a Rev1-4 PCB.tommy.york wrote: ↑Fri Sep 25, 2020 10:50 amDoes anyone have a good source for 17 Switchcraft 46313LDRX? The Simple Divider PCB that came with my Synthcube 1601 kit is white with white lettering.
Even with a magnifying glass, my old eyes can barely read the component layout. Are there any photos of that board with lettering that's a different color than the board?

Sometimes a cellphone photo taken at an angle to the light can show things and magnify in useful ways. Even better when uploaded to a large viewing screen.

Are you sorted for these switches now? The only place that has them available now at a sensible price seems to be tti, https://www.tti.com/content/ttiinc/en/a ... Z0QAvD_BwEtommy.york wrote: ↑Sat Sep 26, 2020 11:04 pmThanks kipling + LED-man, LED-man I sent you an email.

Agreed. About the only way I can read it is to look at a reflection of a light off of the board. I finally found a photo of a board with black lines that should help me out.

Re: ARP 1601 clone Build Thread
Starting my 1601 kit today!
Long story short, I received the parts for V1.5.9 even though my PCB rev is V6a.
The stickers on the bags only have designators for V1.5.9, so I'm unsure where a few of the added parts go for V6a.
Can anyone verify the desingnators for the following parts:
0.01uf (qty 9)
0.1uf (qty5)
1M ohm (qty 18)
47k ohm (qty 12)
Thanks!

I'm building the same, although I have the v6a labels these don't have designators anywhere clear. I believe there is one extra of each of these. Here are the ones I have:

Re: ARP 1601 clone Build Thread
The BOM version and PCB version are different but doesn’t mean they are incompatible. Essentially the parts list has barely changed from my first prototype, but Rev 6a did introduce some new features requiring some additional parts, notably the six trimmers for setting the gate and clock voltage levels.CollinRussell wrote: ↑Sat Dec 05, 2020 3:19 pmStarting my 1601 kit today!

I suspect that as some parts become hard to obtain and are substituted by those of a another manufacturer, or are superseded by the manufacturer (e.g. most of the MLCC caps), then Synthcube increments the BOM version whilst the PCB hasn’t changed.
Hope that helps.

Re: ARP 1601 clone Build Thread
We're happy to show off a new addition to the 1601 diy sequencer family--- this is a new tolex road case, made by the same people using the same methods as our popular TTSH tolex road case-- it includes a detachable power brick/cable storage bag inside the cover, hidden ports for the power plug and foot pedal jack on the case sides and a removable lid. The first batch is being made up now and we are offering them on the store in pre-order (first come first shipped) mode--- thoughts welcome!
Tested for compatibility with v6 and v5 panels/pcb sets, but should be compatible with prior versions as well.

Is that a removable Heyco-style plug?

There's a mounting plate for the jack(s), so this picture shows the plate without the jack installed.

Re: ARP 1601 clone Build Thread
Tested and Calibrated my 1601, but ran into some minor issues.
Would love if someone could enlighten me as to if its normal behavior or not.
1. I can only calibrate the maximum clock rate to 86Hz (the service manual specifies 100Hz) with the multi turn trimmer provided with the Rev 6A BOM.
2. The clocked sawtooth on TP4 does not drop to 0V as specified in the service manual. It clips at +15V (as it should) and drops down to +5V before resetting its cycle.
3. When calibrating the Mod Adjust for Quantizer A and B, the sequencer output peaks at +4.235V when the service manual says it "should be near +5V". Is that near enough?
4. There is a 0V setting in between every quantized step from Quantizer A and B when set to 16/1 mode.
Outside of those things, everything seems to be working great.

Re: ARP 1601 clone Build Thread
I'm having the exact same issue, but it only happens when the sequencer is set to 16/1 and both Quantized outputs jump to 0V in between every chromatic half step. Works fine in 8 step.uwe wrote: ↑Sun Aug 23, 2020 1:46 am
the quantizer is giving me some trouble. i have the sequencer stopped and step 1 active. the quantizer A output range is 0-2V, but bounces around quite a bit when i move the slider. it looks like it dips to 0V and then comes back to where the slider is set. it also changes notes without slider movement irregularly every 20 clock cycles or so. the note change seems to happen only when the slider is set <50%. the unquantized output goes from 0-10V.
Did you end up solving this issue? I ended up replacing Z21, Z24, Z25, and Z27 as Kipling suggested along with a continuity test and it seems to check out, but the problem still persists.
