Re: Jürgen Haible Krautrock phaser BUILD THREAD
Hey guys
So I have finally got to the krautrock phaser in my back log.
Seems like a lot to watch out for but with this thread and the LED man site I am ready
I intend to but it in a Hammond 1550G enclosure with a Yamaha PA20 as I don’t want to deal with mains power.
One question, does anyone have a part number for the rotary pot for the stages?
Cheers as always.

Me too. Get a dpdt on-on-on toggle off you go this route.manymachines wrote: ↑Wed Nov 11, 2020 11:45 amI used a dpdt toggle wired like this for the stages if that's any help?

I used this one: 100DP6T1B1M1QEH
If you really wanted to go rotary, you only need 1 pole and 3 positions, so the switches in the jasper bom will work, since they have the ring that you can move to change the number of positions.

Cheers for the info guys.
I will go toggle switch. Takes up less space in my enclosure and easier to wire!
Thanks as always.

Hi All,
finally got this boxed today. Normally I hate boxing effects but I decided to go big (1550G) and it paid off, no hitches and plenty of room to work ;]
This is such a great sounding thing, respect to JH! RIP

Agreed. This phaser sounds sooo good. Since I finished the basic build it’s been hard for me to finish putting it in its enclosure. Every time I sit down to work on it I end up noodling with it instead of crimping cables.

Re: Jürgen Haible Krautrock phaser BUILD THREAD
thanks!
i know what you mean, I noticed after I posted this that the status LED has stopped working, I guess I mangled it a bit while boxing but I'm having so much fun with this I can't be bothered to open it up and fix it right now ;]

Hey Many machines,
where did you get the bulb cover /Cap thing?
And those knobs.
Very nice.
I will also be putting mine in a 1550G.
Cheers as always.

Hi just saw this message so sorry for late reply!
I got the lamp holder from ebay— https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MES-E10-Pane ... SwJe9eWkHq
I don't know if he's got any with the red cover left. The bulb JH specifies is just a tad too long for this holder so the panel nut inside the enclosure doesn't quite reach the thread. I think I botched it with some tape!
The knobs are from uk-electronic.de
look forward to seeing your finished project, so many variations of sound possible with this thing!

There's a lovely free plugin version here, I was surprised how good it sounds. Hard to find good flanger and phaser plugins that sound like the real thing.

Re: Jürgen Haible Krautrock phaser BUILD THREAD
Thanks manymachines. I was able to get the red bulb cover and it looks sweet.
Guys, are there any calibration guides
What do the 3 trim pots do?
Is it just trim to taste or what.
This is the longest it’s ever taken me to build a “pedal effect”!
Cheers as always

Re: Jürgen Haible Krautrock phaser BUILD THREAD
Can anybody who's built this on internal power recommend a transformer, preferably from Mouser or Reichelt? Thanks

Re: Jürgen Haible Krautrock phaser BUILD THREAD
I used this one: TALEMA 55102-P1S2 for both the Krautrock and the Tau Pipe phaser. It fits the vandaal Krautrock phaser enclosure if you are building that. It's only avaible from TME AFAIK
Re: Jürgen Haible Krautrock phaser BUILD THREAD
Thank you. I have been advised that Newark/Farnell MCFM70/18 fits that enclosure also, so it appears there are some options.
