On some of the old Roland drum machines, the accent was added in the form of a volume bump on the output, post-mixer, so the individual drum voices didn't have their own accent, as such.I'm wondering if someone has any info about adding a accent trigger in to a 606 circuit like this.
I'm going to build these but i need to figure out how to add the accent.
I don't know if this was the case with the 606.

Re: Re:
Sorry, I've been busy with work and other DIY projects. I did test this few weeks back and even though it worked, there were a couple things that I wasn't completely happy with. So, I'll try to make it happen in a month or two.

Re: TR-606 - is there any clone in DIY format?
Getting close to being done with this 5U version. I notice the BOM say that Jacks J9, J10, J11, J12, J13, J14 need to be switched jacks, but there's no indication which ones these are. Any help?
Re: TR-606 - is there any clone in DIY format?
All the individual drum outputs should be switched jacks (except mix out), because that way you can still use the mix output for the rest of the drums. So, it's the lower row. But you can use switched jacks for all the jacks if that's cheaper to buy.

I would love to get an RE-606 kit. Seems to be sold out online. Anyone know if they can be purchased on any other sites?

Oh of course - I hadn't scrolled down far enough in the build doc. Thanks!

Hi Sduck,
I was just comparing your populated pcb with mine and see an issue with Q307, is this one correctly placed, or is the picture misleading?

Re: TR-606 - is there any clone in DIY format?
Whoa - no, it's in backwards. I'll fix it, see if it makes a difference. Everything seems to be working, but....
Edit: errr, maybe not. I basically have to take the whole thing apart to replace that. And looking at the schematic, it's in the low tom tuning knob circuit, which seems to be working fine. So maybe I can live with it.

Re: TR-606 - is there any clone in DIY format?
The next batch of my TR606 5U boards arrived.
Info:
PCB set consists on two PCB's: mainboard (170mm x 130mm) and connector board (170mm x 95mm). RefDes follows the original schematic.
Power headers for MOTM (4pole 156mils) and dotcom (6pole 100mils).
Only +15V is used as in the original design. (Works also with +12V without changes)
No wiring needed.
Line-level output.
No hard to find parts.
Price 25 EUR including shipping. Paypal (use Friends&Family!) janne.isotalo@saunalahti.fi.
BOM, schematics and front panel -file (.fpd) available.

Ordered a set. I'll be building it into a 4U boat / panel though. Once I lay out the panel, I'd be happy to post the FPD here.

Re: TR-606 - is there any clone in DIY format?
Well, this will obviously require hand-wiring, but it will fit in a 12x7x3 Hammond boat. Board mounting will need to be a bit creative as well, but shouldn't be too bad. To keep the spacing, I tossed in a spare VCA, and a dual, manual gate section. Anyone wanting a 4U banana 606 feel free to use/modify this panel if you like.

Re: TR-606 - is there any clone in DIY format?
That looks great.
I'm also mounting a set in a 4U boat, though mine will be a 17x7x3 full panel with some other percussion circuits. Like you said, board mounting will be a small challenge, but it looks like there's plenty of dead space to drill through on the boards to make mounting holes. Might have to go look at some of the Electronic Peasant's wiring jobs to psyche myself up!

Re: TR-606 - is there any clone in DIY format?
I have 5 PCB sets (5U-version) left.
Re: TR-606 - is there any clone in DIY format?
There was a flaw on the panel that I originally posted. The hihat jacks were incorrect. Here is a fixed version.

Re: TR-606 - is there any clone in DIY format?
Nice! I was thinking about doing that, but I already have a bunch of 909 stuff in LW panels, so I figured I'd just make a 606 box.appliancide wrote: ↑Fri May 22, 2020 2:59 pmThat looks great.

Re: TR-606 - is there any clone in DIY format?
any news/progress regarding the SD-TOMS 8hp module?
you have to pay for the music but the noise is free
Re: TR-606 - is there any clone in DIY format?
Sorry, no progress, I've been working on other stuff. I made that proto version that I posted here, but I wasn't 100% happy with the results, so it needs more testing. I should definitely finish it this summer.
