TR-606 won't change scale or pattern length

Hi everyone!
I posted in this thread (https://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/viewt ... highlight=) but I think it is best I make a new one.

Something is weird with this machine: I cannot change the scale. It is stuck on mode 3 (as the leds show when I push the Function button in Pattern Write mode), but cannot be changed.

Also, I cannot define the number of steps to be played: it is always 16 steps.
I know the Function button sends a signal as it lightens the corresponding scale leds, telling me this is mode 3, but nothing more...

I checked the scale selector connections to the CPU : no faulty solder joints there unfortunately.

you have to click the function button after you change the scale switch in order for the scale to change
