so... has anyone started building any of the panels? i just got the pcbs for the quicksand, i need to sort out a power supply and a chassis. any ideas where i can get those plus some rackmounts ears?

There are two chassis option the Budbox which I cant remember the part number for and the Hammond box part number 1444-1773. I prefer the Hammond boxes over the Budbox, I found that the Budbox required trimming of the sides to get everything to fit. With the Hammond boxes, it literally just fits!

Rack ears can be ordered from Takachi Electronics in Japan. The part number for them is M-177s. Email overseas@takachi-el.co.jp and they will quote you on them, I recall they were very reasonably priced, even with the shipping.

For a power supply you can either make you own or buy one from RandomSource or STS. I use a switchmode supply, Meanwell RT-125b. I built a separate enclosure for the power supply and deliver the power via a cable and some chassis mount XLR's on the Hammond box.

I have customised boats for the BOCGS family. These boats simply consist of an array of fixing holes in the base that will take a mix of 1", 2" and 3" CGS boards. Can I assume that the non-CGS boards follow the same pcb dimensions? If not, then presumably even Kens rail boards wouldn't work.

As long as 10 people sign up I can do any panel requested.
Of course if they are to be Oldenjon's style he would have to want to be involved also.

Didn't Serge start with 17 and then change to 16 later ?
if so there must have been a good reason and I wouldn't have thought that the component infringement on the boat was the deciding factor.

I know this thread is a little old. I'm bumping out of curiosity if there are many completed builds out there and if anyone has recorded anything with them. I'm personally in the process of contemplating the build.

Curious who here has these now? I have the Quicksand and Swamp and Im seeming to have a few issues figuring some things out on mine. Would be great to talk to someone who has some hours put into these and pick their brain :-)
