Beginner question about pot selection question. When the BOM states that you can use either 50K or 100K pots on a build, what is gained or lost by choosing either of those options? or is there any sort of golden rule when it comes to this stuff? particularly in the DUSG 4U build

http://randomsource.net/docs/RandomSour ... SG_mk2.pdf

The silk screen of the PCB says 50K, is it best to just go with that?

Thanks everyone!

Does anyone have a Mouser or Reichelt cart for the Haible Wasp (Euro)? :tu:

It won't make a difference that you notice. Serge used 50k pots in his original designs. Eurorack designers seem to have standardised on 100k. You can use either. For my Serge builds I use 50k if I'm ordering parts just for this purpose and 100k if I just happen to have some lying around and want to finish the build.

I tried setting the BOM for the Pulse Divider +Boolean Logic.

Could someone have a look to check if I made a mistake ? While I used Mouser search filters to check the values specified in R*S docs I must admit details between one resistor model or another are over my head (watt values and such)...

http://www.mouser.com/ProjectManager/Pr ... dc678aedc8

If any mistake, I'll correct this for archive sake.

[edit] Capacitors are missing since I yet need to check values [/edit]

Hello,
Thanks everyone for sharing their BOMs, it is a very usefull and much appreciate resources :yay:
To contribute, here is the mouser BOM of the Dual Wasp Filter:

http://www.mouser.com/ProjectManager/Pr ... a0b5e9a391

Missing parts:
- switches
- pots
- jacks
- euro power header

I didn't order it yet, so I am not 100% sure it is accurate or complete. Please also note that I have included SMT op amp and through hole transistor.
Have fun.

Switches, x3: http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Mou ... -0042-EVX/

I managed to mess up and only order 2 of these switches. Oops.

Also, I think there's only a need for 19 100nF's on the main board, and 2 on the jack board. Of the two on the jack board, they can either be SMT or TH, so that brings the total to 21 100nF's (unless you use 2 10nF's on the jack panel). The BOM is a bit confusing on that bit.

Does anyone have an updated Mouser cart for Euro DUSG? The one linked on page 3 isn't working.

Thanks!

Does anyone know what switch I should be ordering for the 4U Wave Multiplier (in La Bestia II)? I am beginning to think I have to use the same as the euorack version.... which seems a bit tiny... but the 4U PCBs for this module are suspiciously tiny and definitely very different from the other 4U PCBs.... I've already ordered the wrong switch for this one so any help would be great.

Edit: Answered my own question - switch is the same as the eurorack module oddly enough - Mouser: 108-0043-EVX

The crystal bright LEDs in this DUSG Mouser cart are not what's typically included in the "official" Dr.Wiener kits. Besides jacks and pots, there's no pin connector sockets in this cart either.

Does anyone know where to source (for US builders) the "precision" breakaway SIL sockets as used in the RS Euro kits? They look like the low-profile breakaway IC sockets, but they're taller. They work much better and take up less space than the non-breakaway box-style sockets Mouser sell. They look like this:

Ok, I am not very good at building BOM. there are too many similar products. I don't know if I'm picking something cheap and shitty, or if I'm picking something over priced...
ANYWAY here is a BOM of the DSG MK2 EURO

Not included are the two items from Thonk
18 Thonkiconn Jacks
8 50k Potentiometers

https://www.mouser.com/ProjectManager/P ... 29630dae9c

I would like to ask if this is correct or if anyone would make changes/suggestions

ps also, instead of the euro header i figure i would just break off extra SIL headers and make one

Thanks in advance!

By any chance does someone have a BOM for the entire La Bestia II panel?

I updated the BOM to the Eurorack Serge VCFQ with up to date parts that can all ship now, minus pots, switches, jacks, and headers. Also I didn't include the 5 1n4148 diodes here at the moment because this is my shopping cart and I already have a shit ton of these, I will put it in the project after I order.

i'm seeking the Mouser cart for both the Res EQ and Wave Multipliers - i've seen the res eq links earlier in the thread but everything isn't quite ready to ship so if someone knows if there is a working one at the moment - would be great, many thanks in advance and sorry for my lazy request!

Anyone have a Mouser cart or BOM Excel file for the Edelweiss II? If not I'll just combine the individual BOMs.

Since the CV Processor and SMT NCOM don't have build docs on the website, can anyone offer insight as to what would be needed, other than jacks, knobs and power headers.

anyone know of an alternative Trimpot to the Bourns 3362P or Vishay T73YP502KT20 (something that matches the footprint) seems these are both out in the 5k territory

Just a quick question for anyone that has done the carnivore build, from the manual -

Transistors
1 PNP
e.g. BC560*
Noise transistor
*pick for best sound ;-)
Use through-hole or SMT (check if SMT is already installed!):
TH: e.g. BC560C, PN4250 SMT: BC860C, BC857C

Sorry beginner question here but how do I know if it is already installed?

Thanks!

See the photo here:

viewtopic.php?p=2707113#2707113

The 3 pads with the ? on them would be where an SMT transistor would be if it was installed. If you just see the pads, like in the photo, then it is not installed.

I use the classic blue bananas instead of white... this includes everything except power headers and pots/knobs.
I want to build my first 4u RS Serge and decided to get the Carnivore pcb panel from the Random Source web.
Is mouser BOM correct ? Anyone who built from here can confirm?

Thanks :tu:
