It says v1.2 at startup. Does that mean anything on the hardware side as well?
Don't believe the hype.

the hardware is the same, but sadly, software v1.2 is an early one before I added a bootloader that allows for easy software updates.

Hmmm, alright. So I guess even updating via wav is not a viable route?

Appreciate the quick and effective answers, by the way! Zeroscope has been an awesome companion the past years! :tu:

it's the bootloader that enables updating via WAV

I just uploaded latest v1.7 here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... sp=sharing
Hi. Please forgive me if I may have missed this info, but what has changed in the latest v1.7 (mine is on v1.6)?

Bumping to ask about details on firmware binaries to update via STLINK for those like myself stuck on pre-bootloader versions.

Edit: failed properly search, however having trouble detecting the STM device on the zeroscope 1.1 board using two different stm clones. :despair:

for updates via STLINK, see the guide here:

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... sp=sharing

and use the file zs_combo_v1.6.bin

make sure you check "connect under reset"

Thanks for the reply! Checked, and just successfully detected and flashed... my original euclidean circles to v1.9. Good signs, so just in case, I reflowed the ebug header on the zeroscope and verified continuity from the header to the stm but still no target found. I have also tried powering from both the USB STLINK and my eurorack supply. Maybe blame the STLINK clone for the inconsistency? Will report back if I have any breakthroughs.

Is there an approximate date on when the DIY kit will available again?
I've tried looking online shops for a kit, but it seems out of stock everywhere.

Bought the kit from synthcube. Built the kit today, and it looks so good. Was easy to get everything connected together, and the screen looks fantastic.

One problem, it seems like I'm in production test mode. Firmware v1.7. I tried to follow the instructions on synthcube's product page of plugging a clock signal into ext input, and clicking/turning the knobs but no dice. Is there anything I can check to see what the problem might be? (I'm guessing the encoders are soldered wrong, or not connected to the circuit well in some way, but any hints to get started are appreciated.)

EDIT: It seems like IC2 had a bridged solder connection. Cleaned that up and was able to get out of prod test mode.

I just bought my kit from Synthcube and my module is stuck in "Prod Test" on bootup. I followed the steps on Synthcube's page and it still will not exit that mode. I doublechecked all my solder joints and did continuity tests from both encoders click, Channel A, Channel B, EXT in pin 3 to their respective pins on IC7. I also doublechecked IC2 and its neighboring resistors and capacitors according to the schematic and it all looks well.

It seems like the encoder clicks are responding since holding encoder 1 while turning it on does change the encoder settings and holding encoder 2 while powering up does go into firmware update mode.

I also tried to re-flash the 1.7 firmware just in case. It does start to update when I send the .wav file to the T input and there is a progress bar that shows but when the wav file is finished, the 4th LED never lights up on the screen.

Any ideas on this? Is there a specific way the encoders need to be pressed and turned and is there a range of how fast the clock pulse should be?

there is no feedback on when you turn and press encoders, so make sure you do each at least 5 times

also, sorry again for shipping in this state, this is the firmware that normally only goes on production units, not the DIY kit, but its just a one letter typo 😕

Quick Question. Looking at the schematic it looks like P$3 and P$2 are connected for inputs 1 and 2. Does this mean if nothing is connected to input 1 and 2 ground will show at the input?
