I'm also interested :).

Yes. The Elby MIDI kit is already on its way to me, so I'd absolutely appreciate that.
... why buy it for $100 when you can build it yourself for $150?

Should the hole be on the top? Would it make more sense to put them near the other connections?

For me, it wouldn't really matter since both would easily fit in with my setup. However, having the MIDI connectors near the other jacks probably looks better.

So +1 for having them near the other connectors (and of course make sure there is enough space left inside the case for the Elby kit :hihi: ).

Point taken sammy123, Bodo1967

I'll redesign the side to incorporate the Elby midi and also add an aluminium plate to hide the internals. Think I will make this the default for all the enclosures, it'll be easier.

I'll get a new render out later today.

I have not finished mine yet so it may be a good idea to get others' input as well.

Getting ready to assemble my Jasper, so mark me as interested in a case.

Any chance of a second run using, like, lexan or acrylic or some kind of plastic rather than particle board?

Hi AonFLuX, don't worry everyone is that shows an interest is on the list.

I'll update the original post.

Materials for the first batch have been ordered and am still waiting for the CNC to arrive. After that I will have to see how long it takes to manufacture the parts, it's a big job, a bit scary! The aim will be to get 10 or 20 kits made, then whilst these are packed start on the next 10/20 until all orders are sorted.

When I'm ready with the first batch I will place a link to a Google spread sheet for people to add their addresses and confirm quantity. I'll give out my paypal address/payment.

There will be a video to show how to construct the case, it should be easy with no special tools required.

Cheers
Sonny

Hi sizone, If I can fine a cheap enough supplier acrylic is on the cards. However it will be more expensive.

Once I have the manufacturing side ready and if I find a supplier cheap enough I may add the option before fulfilling orders.

What colour would you be interested in?

Cheers

Think we pretty much gotta go black or yellow. No worries about higher cost.

How about this sort of thing? I reckon it's going to be about the £200 mark from the plastic quotes so far. It won't be a kit either as I will have to polish the edges and glue/weld the joints.

That looks like a job for laser cutting. That's the direction I was going towards but your sandwhich idea is really cool. I was going to go with matte black acylic initially but that only comes in 3mm and doing layers would fix the thickness issue.

Just an observation: Your case doesnt look thick enough for the battery compartments

Looks o.k., like those layered licorice candies, but it seems like using multiple layers kinda defeats a lot of the benefit of using acrylic. Also, I retract my earlier statement about cost. 200 "quid" is about what all the other components cost, anything over 100 is gonna be too much for a case. Wonder if the brexit/pound plummet is causing manufacturing quotes to skyrocket for you?

Still interested in one of the particle board kits, at least unless you can find a more reasonable plastic option.

I'm interested, but will it fit the Jasper MIDI CV in module which has just surfaced?

It will fit something like this, no problem.
