They might be these ones http://www.smallbear-electronics.mybigcommerce.com/aluminum-large-black-index/SmokyClap wrote:Does anyone know where to get those big silver metal knobs that are on a lot of the stock photos of Magpie white sandblast designs?
here are some which were converted from diptrace for reference when i was building mine.nosamiam wrote:Would anybody be so kind as to post a PDF of the Micro Braids schematic? I need to troubleshoot mine and I can't get the .dip file from Magpie to open. It's probably because I don't know what I'm doing with Diptrace, but just the same, having a pdf would be lovely.

Is there a list of changes from rev1 to rev2 BOM?
from the site:
"We will work on getting a fresh BOM and a list of just the changed components in case you have purchased the parts for rev1."
but can't find it.

the BOM for v2 was posted by Altitude909 a while back in the thread here. Not sure if magpie side updates their ubraids page for the new BOM.
Have attached the BOM here which was the same one posted by altitude909.
A few pages back in the thread, i think theres a mouser cart for the v2 ubraids, maybe can check back on that and compare with the BOM before getting the parts.

I built a standard Braids (and Clouds and Ripples) with 0603. It's the density of 0603 on µBraids I find intimidating. I had to build Links twice to get it right.
(I'm almost afraid to order components for µBraids -- I haven't order panels, yet, just the PCBs.)

I just ordered this accessory for my optiVISORs:
optiLOUPE

Didn't look as bad on the photos, but now I'm a bit scared. Oh well... I'll do my very best
Lets see what I've paid (all including s&h, exchange rates etc):
40€ Panel and PCB (Magpie)
65€ Mouser parts (I've actually ordered 2 extra of each 0603 part value and one extra part of selected ICs just in case something bad happens)
23€ OLED (eBay)
9€ Jacks (also ordered more than needed, jacks are needed always anyway and they get cheaper the more you order)
So for me roughly 140€ including anything between 5-10€ s&h to Germany for each individual order. Your mileage may vary of course, depending on where you are located.
Plus several evenings of fun putting everything together. The priceless part: you first switch it on, it does of course not work, so you go along, hunt for solder bridges, misplaces components and stuff and then finally it works. That feeling, better than sex, I'd say... (unless that one was really good)

Just curious if you ever got the replacement/updated µBraids from Tall Dog, and, if so, how are you getting along with it? Was thinking about putting in an order... Kind of want to hold off until I see some reviews/comments on how it's performing in people's rigs.madsox wrote:UPDATE: The seller contacted me acknowledging the defect and said they're working on a revised version. The downer is I'll have to send it back and wait 4-8 weeks.
(thanks)

Guys, I do not find the jacks within BOM v2. Can someone please share the correct mouser part# for these?cosmikwolf wrote:FYI I added the BOM to Octopart:
https://octopart.com/bom-tool/U9UeSTdV
double check before you order with it!
Based on this bom (with a few substitutions so you can order from mouser or digikey):
My first build is almost ready, but for sure I need some jacks :-D
Mouser doesn't sell them. You need these, from Erthenvar, Modular Addict and others - https://erthenvar.myshopify.com/collections/accessories/products/3-5mm-inline-jackssenortorpedo wrote:Guys, I do not find the jacks within BOM v2. Hm, from just comparing the datasheets the parts seem to be identical:
74HC2G04GW-Q100: https://assets.nexperia.com/documents/d ... 4_Q100.pdf (from 2014, says "triple inverting schmitt trigger")
74HC2G04GW,125: http://www.farnell.com/datasheets/2342166.pdf (from 2004, says just "dual inverter")
Besides the intro, the rest in the sheets is absolutely identical.
The Q100 part seems to be even suitable for automotive use (ie moar better
), so in my (hobbyist) opinion it should make no difference. I'd try it...

Hi built up a ubraids but have run into this difficulty
I think it is a programming error on my part for the screen
probably to do with the SSD1306 library but not dead certain
anyway the display never changes from what is shown
no matter how much the encoder is operated
wondering if anyone has seen this before ?

It probably wont happen today but if it does it definitely wont go smoothly.
