Would this work in a real 2600?

It should. You'd need to do some schematic/circuit sleuthing to find the same VCO source points it uses from the TTSH, but the circuits are basically identical, just laid out differently, so it shouldn't be too much of a chore. Whether the power supply will work is untested so far.

I've been following this thread and been wondering where to add all the new switches and jacks.

So, along with all the other mods that I'm planning, I quickly made this drawing of the new mods:

My intention is to use the same slide switches as the original TTSH and place the new controls where it makes most sense (ie. not placing toggle switches far from the actual section that is being modified. Not trying to blame anyone here!)

Also, I'm hoping that someone might come up with a mod for switching between the two filters! :-)

I am not too happy about the range switches for the ADSR / AR being placed near the right speaker. I wish there was more space closer to the ADSR/AR modules.

What do you think? How are you all going to add these new controls?

.. oohhh! I almost forgot! I have planned to make my own variant of the sync mod. Instead of only having two oscillators sync'ed, I thought "why not all three?". So, I plan to add a sync option for each of the three oscillators with three possible sync sources; none, osc A or osc B.

What could possibly go wrong? (apart from making nasty scratches on the frontpanel)
Look at these switches for your plan. I have not evaluated them, and they are expensive. But they come from same line as the TTSH switches, so they will look and feel identical from the front, but are panel mount, and have solder lugs you can bend to fit. Switchcraft part number 56206L2X.

ps: lots of luck with your filter switch mod. It looks a bit out of reach to me. If it does work, its going to be a bigger switch than an SPDT.

Hi Fuzzbass. Thanks a lot for the switchcraft mini toggle switches link. Mouser has them listed at EUR 4.32, which is a high price, by not more than the original switches. They look very nice.

I have a bunch of different (and cheaper) switches from chinese vendors. I think I will try the mods with these switches first, and then I'll decide if I want to spend the money on the nice Switchcraft.

I guess you're also right about the filter mod. At first I thought it would be easy to hook up both filters and then just switch a single audio wire, but apparently its not that easy (I went back and read the earlier posts about this).

I would certainly be interested for mine, and will check with the other folks I am building for. Could be as many as 4.

I tested the board and it's a easy build in case of you assembled the TTSH byself.
The photo shows the additional waveform outputs and suboctave switch and sub osc output, a simple switch for the suboctave works fine.
Thanks Antony for the great idea.

Won't the new waveforms come out sideways with your synth like that? :nana:

I'd like to know this too - they look absolutely brilliant on a TTSH!

You folks are hijacking my thread. I pillaged the fader knobs from a Behringer eq scored on eBay for $25. I have not found any retail or even a manufacturer who offers them in quantity.

I just read the install document. Holy moses! What an amazing job you've done, Fuzzbass. You have put in so much detail that I really can't wait to add this to my V3.

Also, thanks a lot for the detailed information on the switchcraft and APEM switches.

Yeah...Whats up with the PM's not being sent? I also sent a PM to Fuzzbass yesterday, but its just sitting in the 'outbox'? Normally, they end up in the 'sent' box.

Sorry folks I'm getting your PMs, just very busy here right now. The boards are out being manufactured and I expect them back here after 5 July. Invoices for current orders will be sent as soon as I have the boards on hand and ready to ship.
