I have a bunch of tubes leftover from building the CGS65, I'm interested in a few of those depending on the price (if still available).

Greets for this project! Can we hear some news?

I would love to hear this VCF in line recording. Sounds good on OP's demos, even picked up with mic 8-)

I had a look on schematics - C8 and C19 basically are connected in parallel, right?
What's the function of C11?

Well I finally built mine up! I waited quite a while to order the proper switches and vactrol, oops.

I've used 0805 SMD resistors and capacitors for all the resistors and ceramic caps. They work perfect over upright resistors.

I used BC337/BC327 for the transistors, because that's What I had around. Seems to work

I used 4 parallel 830ohm resistors to make something close to 220ohm for the tube. I have ~1.3v on the heater, so I hope that will not kill it too fast.

I haven't tried adjusting the 1v/oct trimmer yet, and I've adjusted the others to what I "think" sounds right, but who knows. Anyone have info on the "proper" way to adjust the trimmers?

Otherwise, this tube VCF is awesome. I like it a lot! Sometimes it makes some crazy sounds never to be found again... until they decide to reappear with the right combo of settings and input! It's a welcome addition to my rack!

Hello, sorry for taking so much time to respond. Yes I do have spare pcbs and panel and tube and double vactrol if you like. I will answer to your pm !
Also, I may run out of stock but if needed I will run a new PCB batch.

Hey rvrv ! Bravo ! Excellent project, where did you find the kicad footprint for the tube ? Did you do it yourself ?

Thanks ! If I remember well the footprint came from an old befaco project with 1J24b tubes.

I finally finished my build and this filter is stunning! There's a massive range of sounds possible and the difference between high and low pass is so dramatic (feedback is inverted between the 2 modes but is on an attenuverter). I have to post some demos of drones that sound totally organic and lively, more than any other filter I have this responds to different content in unpredictable ways. With a simple saw it's got one sound but add a second osc and the beating distorts the filter in a lovely way. Add noise and it starts to act like a tunable distortion, all without touching the controls.

It CAN do clean but not as predicable as other filters, best as a balls-to-the-wall lead filter.
