Re: Deckards Dream General Build Thread
Can someone help me with the C3 issue on the Rev1? I already soldered all the components in. So I cannot read which one is C3. Does anyone have a picture of the capacitor on the board with the right (or wrong) orientation for me?

Re: Deckards Dream General Build Thread
Glad you got it. FWIW I had mine installed backwards for years with no problems. I did however recently fix it, just in case.

Re: Deckards Dream General Build Thread
thx
theres one thing i do not understand.. whats the meaning of this ?
It is strongly recommended to update the boot loader of your Deckards Dream if you have access to a Windows computer and an ST-LINK device
to simple update from1.3 to 1.4 i only have to do this ?
just boot the DDRM in USB Mode and drop the above bin file in the USB drive and reboot the DDRM, works on Windows and OSX
TIA

Re: Deckards Dream General Build Thread
You need the latest bootloader, just check the Version in your DDRM menu. I think it’s the last menu option.
It’s important to have the last bootloader, or some functions do not work with the updater app.

Re: Deckards Dream General Build Thread
Ok wait. Is it recommended, or required to do this bootloader upgrade? This is important. If "some functions do not work" without the latest bootloader, which functions? These are important details that NEED to be documented.

Re: Deckards Dream General Build Thread
HW version isn’t the bootloader Version.
Have to check on mine, normally it’s in the Menu visible.

Re: Deckards Dream General Build Thread
Who can test Ableton 11 and MPE with an Roli Keyboard for example?
It’s not working on mine, when you press and hold a note and add another note it stops the first notes and only play the last note.
In Ableton 11 beta is MPE enabled for the MIDI input and in ddrm is MPE Mode enabled, Roli Seaboard is on MPE too.
I tried with USB MIDI and with DIN MIDI.

Re: Deckards Dream General Build Thread
maybe this bootloader thing is somehow important to DIY DDRMs ?
i just updated mine that is a NO DIY version with the new firmware and it worked without problems...
but still have to check if all new features work as they should..

Re: Deckards Dream General Build Thread
That’s the reason why we try to share here some infos too.
And the important things are always on my website, often days or weeks later (to have only the stablest versions on my website)

Re: Deckards Dream General Build Thread
The differences the new bootloader offer shouldn't be anything in normal playing/editing and the usual features. It will make a difference in the future, with a new firmware uploader/configuration app that BC is working on, and potentially an editor they've hinted about.

Re: Deckards Dream General Build Thread
First of all Happy New Year to you all. But I'm panicking a bit. I seen to have a problem. I finished all boards. Managed to upload the boot loader and firmware. Tested all the sliders with the debug functions. So the main board and hardware boards work, also my USB works. I inserted my voice cards one by one. No shorts. Then with one voice board inserted I ran the auto tune. Nothing happens? It stays on OSC 1A tuning. Any one any advice for me?

Re: Deckards Dream General Build Thread
OK I'm a total noob sorry
I put the voice board in slot 8 in stead of slot 1
I feel so stupid. Hahahahaha. OK resuming testing

Re: Deckards Dream General Build Thread
OK sorry for my premature post before. I was impatient, but now I did lots more testing. I have a question. When I test my sliders with debug. I see stepping ? I expected analog behavior but it skips like 6 each time. I would expect 1? So 4-10-16 etc. not 1,2,3,4. I did run the calibration. Is this normal or is something wrong? I also hear this stepping when I change the filter for example. If it is normal fine, but if not anybody an idea?

Re: Deckards Dream General Build Thread
Maybe a firmware issue? Once I put the faders in direct pickup mode the issue was gone. Running latest firmware 1.4.02 with bootloader 3.0
Anyway. My Deckards Dream is fully operational now with 7 voice boards. I have 1 voice board with an issue left. It doesn't want to calibrate even though it does produce sound.

Re: Deckards Dream General Build Thread
The usage of 74HC4051 fixed the slider stepping/delay for some users.

Re: Deckards Dream General Build Thread
Anyone know where to grab 15mm tact switches that isn't E-Bay? It's the last piece I need and I am dying to get this thing going... I don't want to wait 1.5 months for shipping. I reached out to an E-Bay seller about quicker shipping but that isn't looking too promising.
Anyone in the America's want to sell me 5 15mm tactile switches?
Another quick question for anyone listening, where did everyone put the 10mm vs the 12mm spacers? 10mm MF spacer between panel and hardware board, or between hardware and motherboard? I'm leaning toward between the hardware board and panel.
