Sorry about this.
It should be back up on Monday.

Re: Ryk M185 Sequencer - per step repeat and gate mode
Has something changed since the version that was there earlier this week?

Hello
Yes.
We found a small bug which caused some DIY builds to behave strangely with the CH2 CV output scaling.
I will upload when back to work on Monday.
Appologies for the inconvenience.

Hello
At 120 BPM, playing quarter notes, set at 1 octave apart.
With 100% portamento you should get an almost incomplete full glide.
[ IE not qiuite reaching the next note pitch ]
At about 3'oclock setting of the portamento, the glide should be easily complete at this tempo.
Hope that helps

Re: Ryk M185 Sequencer - per step repeat and gate mode
Thanks for the details, I will do some tests! If I already installed the latest firmware (v3.33) before this one, is it likely I’ll have to recalibrate the CV outputs once again after re-updating?

Re: Ryk M185 Sequencer - per step repeat and gate mode
Hello
The re-calibration is only needed if you are upgrading from V3.32x. [ IE < V3.33 ]

Re: Ryk M185 Sequencer - per step repeat and gate mode
Hi Ryk!
I just finished mine and everything seems to be working but I have 3 issues:
First, the next button doesn’t seem to work (all the other ones do). Do you know what I should double check? All the soldering seems to be ok.
Second, when in settings mode (keeping the red button pressed) and plugged to another module (intellijel atlantis) i can hear a pitch descending accordingly to the leds brightness. Do you know what might be causing this?
Also whenever i turn on the modular the sequencer starts immediately, is that an issue?
Thanks!

Re: Ryk M185 Sequencer - per step repeat and gate mode
I have the same issue described above with the next button. I also have an issue with the 5VQ output in calibration mode, it is reading approx -1v regardless of which position the max stage switch is set to. However, if I switch to 5V mode, each channel appears to output the appropriate range of voltage from 0-5v as each corresponding pot goes from min to max. Any ideas of what I should check her @ryk?
Thanks

Sorry I replied to your email.
The sequencer starts running on power up normally,
If anyone wants to poll user opinions, this can be easily
changed on the next firmware

Re: Ryk M185 Sequencer - per step repeat and gate mode
Just to double check because it's not 100% clear from this thread, but is the M185 only available as a full kit, or is there also a PCB and panel option?
Re: Ryk M185 Sequencer - per step repeat and gate mode
Hello
Sorry, it is only available as a full kit, or assembled module.

Ryk.
Two things. Thanks for the help with the firmware chip. It arrived just in time for Christmas. Perhaps a tribute video is in order. Admittedly I haven't calibrated mine yet..
Secondly check out this cool user created Ryk M185 inspired sequencer built with The Monome family of gear.

Re: Ryk M185 Sequencer - per step repeat and gate mode
I'm really loving this sequencer now. One question for RYK based on this text in the manual:
Does this send the summed CV *before* the quantizer is applied, so that pitch modulations aren't just simple sums but stay in key?4. A + B Sequence CV offset ON/OFF
The CV from Sequence B is added to the CH1 CV to create note offsets, or key changes.
This is useful when creating a looped pattern in Sequence A, and using a slower pattern in Sequence B to change the key of Sequence A.

Glad you are enjoying the module.
The A+B CV addition is applied after the scale quantisation, so that it can be used as a key change.
It effectively allows you to sequence the root note of the quantisation scale.
Hope that helps
Cheers

Re: Ryk M185 Sequencer - per step repeat and gate mode
Thanks for the clarification! It would be great to have the option to do it the other way, because then you could modulate through the scale (retaining key), which is often way more useful than a simple modulation (key change). Is there any possibility of this?

Re: Ryk M185 Sequencer - per step repeat and gate mode
I've just turned the A+B Offset mode on and I was disappointed to find that the Unquantized mode doesn't use this setting. I don't use the internal quantizer so that's a bit disappointing. I guess I'll have to mix the CV outputs with another module before going into my quantizer.

Yes, I can send you a custome firmware if you need it.
But as the menu system is a little maxed out on options space
it would have to be only this option . . .

Yes sorry the unquantised CH1 CV output is not processed at all, so it cannot have the offset CV
added internally.
But if you are quantising after, why would you need the unqauntised ouput ?
Just set the M185 quanitse scale to 'chromatic' [ all the notes ! ] then you can used the A+B offset, and
post scale quantise with your own quantise module.
Hope that helps
