Today the parts from Banzai Music arrived. A whole lot of potentiometers and very nice IC sockets.
DHL rescheduled the delivery of the main package to tomorrow. I suppose I won‘t be at home when the delivery guy rings, fingers crossed some neighbour will be available, otherwise I will have to wait until saturday to get it from the post office.

2019-03-17: No more orders are accepted at this point. Nine builders have signed up. Now the material is going to be ordered and shipped to the builders.
2019-10-24: I am now accepting orders. If you are interested in this project, please first familiarize yourself with the documents shown below (Assembly Guide, BOM, Bundle Request Form), then fill out the Bundle Request Form and send it to my email address. You can find my email address at vocoder.hoerold.com near the end of the web page.
Note: the bundle I am offering is not the whole kit. You will still have to order parts from your trusted distributor. There are three Mouser projects available:I will accept orders until the first 12 candidates have signed up. As is customary at muffwiggler's, I will post the candidates' aliases on the first post.
- 18-channel stereo vocoder (excl. supply). This is the vocoder BOM, excluding the components needed for the power supply.
- Vocoder DC/DC supply. This covers components available at Mouser for the DC/DC converter based power supply.
- Vocoder LDO supply. This covers components available at Mouser for the alternative LDO based power supply.
Once the list is full, I will accept payments. After all payments are made, I will order the parts and PCBs as requested per the Bundle Request Forms sent to me.
Sign-up list:
1. synthcube
2. derpinguin
3. needspeed
4. Girilal
5. pinewave
6. Magman
7. drbach
8. tkatona
9. gwpt
2018-10-24: Assembly guide
Find the assembly and tuning guide here.
2018-09-27: Initial pricing info
For a good pricing indicator (final prices for panels pending), see the bundle request form.
2018-08-16: BOM now available
Alright, there are now two documents available:I believe for many of you the spreadsheet is of strong interest as it essentially gives you and indication about the total cost for the BOM.
- 1) A PDF that contains the complete assembly tables and the BOM.
2) An Excel spreadsheet that I've built up over the last couple of years and that I've just updated with the latest component cost.

Hello wigglers!
What do think about this 18-channel analog stereo vocoder?

I've been working on this project over the last couple of years but now it's time to check the community's interest. Over time, I hope we get to know each other better on this thread.
Re: 18-channel DIY Stereo Analog Vocoder
Anyone interested in selling a finished unit?
Re: 18-channel DIY Stereo Analog Vocoder
Is this project ever going to have a second run? Its too good not to. Im willing to front the costs to do a batch of PCBs. Are the board files around somewhere? I tried to contact glubsch but never got a response. :(

Re: 18-channel DIY Stereo Analog Vocoder
Totally seconded – I was choked to have missed the boat on the run. I'd very much love to build one of these, and am also happy to help front the cost of boards!
Re: 18-channel DIY Stereo Analog Vocoder
I'm on board for this as well. Now that I have the funding, I'd really like to be able to build one of these.
Re: 18-channel DIY Stereo Analog Vocoder
Sorry for my late response. Frankly, I haven't been hanging out in the forums lately as there have been virtually no posts for several months.
I do plan to offer a second run of PCBs/bundles and had a couple of months in mind before proceeding. So please stay tuned and keep in mind that getting in touch with me via email is best. If, for some reason, you have not received a reply, I apologize. Please let me know through this thread or shoot me a private message. Maybe your email didn't come through.

Re: 18-channel DIY Stereo Analog Vocoder
I used to get email notifications when new posts were published. This is no more the case and I cannot find an option at muff's that let me change this. Is this no more available?
Re: 18-channel DIY Stereo Analog Vocoder
I've decided to wait no longer. Over the last year, I've had about two inquiries per month asking for a second run. I've sifted through my emails and contacted them all and within a day, 5 people already replied with a strong interest. So if you were waiting for this, now is the time to shoot me an email and I will reply with more details how this is going to be handled.
As done in the past, I will track the progress in the first post. That's also where you find all the essential documentation.

Re: 18-channel DIY Stereo Analog Vocoder
We've already achieved half the number of people I need to take the the second run to the next level.

Re: 18-channel DIY Stereo Analog Vocoder
We have 8 people on our list for the second run. Let's see if we find 4 more to sign up.

Hope I'm in time to get on board. Email sent
Re: 18-channel DIY Stereo Analog Vocoder
Very cool. We are making good progress. Three more builders are needed. Once we have one more, I will inform everyone about the next steps.
