I pre-ordered and paid the balance the day I was invoiced - 22 November... Was hoping to have something to build over Christmas. As for the MME, I've been attempting to design the sheet metal parts in Freecad, but spend more time looking at tutorials than anything else! :bang:

That’s my exact problem with the chassis lol. The ambition is there but it’s a hell of a learning curve to get it all right.

Did you get the full kit for the 2021? Maybe they’re still waiting on stuff.

So Synthcube tells me they have 100% of the materials in the shop now and have just been a bit slow to get the kits put together. I'll ask them to post on here too. Hopefully we are really close.

Thanks for everyone's patience here! :hail:

Yeah. I rather underestimated the learning curve!

Small update: It turns out that at some point after I finished the initial design, Ohmite discontinuted the TO-220 heatsink I used on the power supply and nobody had any in stock. Just my luck, the design was rather unique in its dimensions and spacing of the solder pin holes and there didn't seem to be any direct replacements.

Long story short, I was able to track some down from the factory and did a small last- time buy and just sent 10 pieces of them to SynthCube on Wednesday. So, disaster averted. :guinness:

I'll have to do a re-design of the PSU board for future builds, but we are safe for now! I assume Synth Cube is getting really close to finishing up, as this was the only issue I know of. :tu:

Wow! Nobody has them anymore!

You could always lay the regulators down and place copper fill under as a thermal pad - kind of like the original. It would cut parts down and builders wouldn't have to worry about isolating the two regulators.
Though I'm sure you've considered this

Grabbing my kit next weekend 8-)

I will probably do something different, but I'll have to look at it.

I guess it's a good datapoint that the original units seemed to do OK with just the heatsinking of the copper pour under the regulator, but it still makes me a little nervous to do that without looking at the numbers. The heatsinks I choose should be pretty overkill, which is better than underkill (if that's a word).

I'm open to suggestions though. :tu:

looking forward to seeing more of these in the wild!!

Uh oh, you guys better call the Post Office with tracking number 9400109205568573176499. It says they tried to deliver this week and couldnt get access. They are probably holding the package.

I’m shocked to find that the chassis kit does not include a single nut or screw. Nor any shielded cables, feet, or keybed cable as well - not sure if that was suppose to come with the keybed.

I like what you guys are brewing over there but this is a massive inconvenience and for the price mark-up - I am very disappointed.

I provided SC with the complete BOMs including all hardware (with vendors) assuming they would provide this. I provided all the hardware with the original Beta chassis kits. Perhaps this just got forgotten?

After discovering the missing bits I checked the product page. The hardware is not included. Though shielded cables are supposed to be?

I suppose I made the wrong assumption that it would come with the bits that hold it all together. Still very disappointing.

You may have to provide the BOM for the hardware if thats okay.

I just PM'd you Kevin. :tu:

For anyone else wanting to get a jump on screws/nuts and such, the hardware is all on the PSU & Misc BOM spreadsheet here:

Seems like one has to purchase many of those parts in bulk quantities.

I’m beat. This is becoming a money pit and I’m very annoyed.

But enough about my misery. Enjoy your builds, everyone.

Hang tight. I think there might be a mistake here, as the intent was always to Include the hardware (it's listed right on the SC page).

Ok, so I see the confusion at least on my end is that you got the chassis kit not the full kit. I have let SC know that I think for the future the chassis kit should also contain the screws and feet as it just makes sense and will make it easier for international builders.

Kevin I've asked SC If there's any way they can get a screw set to you easily since you're a early builder and they already have stock of the bulk items. :tu:

Tomorrow I'll also check my workshop to see if I have extras of any of the hardware we can leverage for you. We'll get you set up somehow!

hey folks! got the notes from devin over the weekend regarding hardware etc.

for sure, we will add all of the hardware bits to the partial kits (and of course send those to Kevin as well)
And anything else missing from the partial kit we boxed up including cable for the keybed and shielded cables

Just an FYI for anyone replacing the 2N4250 transistors(only in full kit) with the suggested PN200A from earlier in this thread - they are now discontinued as well.

And thank you, Synthcube for accommodating us with the hardware.
