The specs are a little further off but I don't see why they wouldn't work fine for this.
Edit: just realized it's pretty much a modern version of the transistor

My habit of hoarding obsolete parts justifies ordering a load of 2N4250s.

I bet if everyone on Muffs DIY pooled our stashes together we could fill a supermarket with obsolete electronic components. I know I've got my share.

And yeah I don't know how I missed these PN4250s the first go round.

Just an FYI for anyone replacing the 2N4250 transistors(only in full kit) with the suggested PN200A from earlier in this thread - they are now discontinued as well.

And thank you, Synthcube for accommodating us with the hardware.

Sweet!

Here's a spoiler on the latest boards. Love'n the solder mask choice.

For those who haven't seen the kit yet - the quality is mind blowing. I can't say I've seen an instrument more robust than this one.

Did these new PCB's include the aftertouch to cv -circuit? If not, and someone needs one, I still have 8 PCBs for that mod.

The new A PCBs do not have the AT circuit on board but they do have the 2 4-pin header locations on the back to accommodate a AT daughterboard. The layout is shown on the bottom post on page 46 of this thread. :tu:

Is there a way to get the full kit in Europe (minus crazy taxes …)?

Received the hardware. There are no flat head screws included besides the 10 for the end cheeks.

The 6-32 x 3/8 (4 count) and 6-32 x 1/4 (31 count) are actually pan head and not flat head like the labels suggest. They need to be flat head.

Missing kep nuts and some screws for the lower chassis components (midi connectors, power input and voltage selector)

Missing all standoffs.

Update:
Missing 3/16” long pan head screws for the pcb side of the standoffs. - the 8 black screws included are good for the bottom of the lower chassis (power supply pcb & chassis brace)

Missing 1/4” long flat head screws (8 count) for lower chassis lip standoffs. Not sure if these are the same as the 31 count - same goes for the lower chassis stuff.

Update:
Keybed cable is far too short - only 8”. You’ll barely be able to reach the connections while assembling - never mind keeping the chassis open while calibrating.

I’m unsure of the slide nut threading for the end cheeks. Can’t seem to get the screws to catch.

Some of these items are listed for hardware in the BOM, some like the pan head stand off screws and kep nuts seem to be missing.

Ill keep updating this as I find more. I haven’t started assembling yet so I’m unsure what else will come up.

Hmm I will review the hardware BOM vs model tomorrow but I think it's correct since that's the hardware I sent with the beta kits and nobody complained about screws.

Btw for synthcube: it's very important you get the exact flat heads I call out since there are 82 and 100 degree heads available and only the right ones will sit right (and of course they are black stainless to match the panels)

Alright, so I just went over the newwest hardware BOM and compared it to my Beta pack list and I am sorry to say I was missing a couple of things. I also had an incorrect quantity of pan head screws that are used to mount the PCBs. Here is a redline of the BOM. Orange means it was missing before and yellow means the quantity is changed.

I'm emailing this to SynthCube right now and getting the BOM updated on my website. Sorry about this and I appreciate everyone's patience in dealing with any hiccups during the transition to SynthCube! :guinness:

Thanks, Devin.

Looks like I need the items within the red box (minus 8 of the 3/16" screws)
As well as a keybed cable that's about 3x longer.

Set screw style knobs on D-shaft pots and switches wobble when turned - not perfectly centered. Looking for workarounds or adapters.

Synthcube's BOM still shows pre-assembled keybed cable ~8" long.

Boards are populated, cables prepped, patiently waiting for the last bits. :hail:

Lookin' good! Ah, the knobs. Yes, the set screw ones do spin a little off center but it never bothered me. I think adapters do exist 6-6.35mm, or the push-on knobs that Alititude909 sells spin true.

If anyone has any sources for 6-6.35mm knob adapters, please post on this thread, it would be appreciated! :tu:

My knobs are long gone..

http://smallbear-electronics.mybigcomme ... led-split/

bit silly price wise, but it is what it is.

I found drinking straws can work pretty well too.

So the diameter is 6mm?

I can give this a shot; https://lovemyswitches.com/potentiomete ... t-adapter/
If they can't handle the set screw pressing against the void I could fill it with a shim or epoxy to cure my OCD

Edit: hey it's exactly what Altitude suggest but 6 pennies less. I'll shop around some more.

I find the really nice, top shelf straws at the local dunkin donuts, good snug fit. You can usually snatch a handful and make a break for the door before they notice.

I'm going to hit the hardware store. If they stock the thinnest walled 1/4 brass tubing I should be in business 👍

LOL. Drinking straw trick noted!

Although I live in Portland and we have all but banned single use straws here. You can get em but you usually have to ask.
