Arturia Rackbrute DIY fixtures (utilizing the Link System)

Post by col » Fri Feb 22, 2019 2:32 pm

Picked up a Rackbrute 6U off the bay with a big discount. Now I want to make it fit in with my other 6U case and try some different options, maybe a 1RU mount.

I will add some photos as I go. If anyone has ideas much appreciated!

First off the screws thread is a M7.1 pitch

Have you tried contacting Arturia? The link system is open source so they should be able to send you all the info. They also supposedly sell the parts at cost?

Triangle Feet

Post by col » Fri Feb 22, 2019 4:54 pm

Just to get a bit of lift so I can get my DIY 6U in under the Rackbrute I made these feet:

This is using Alucobond offcuts and some M7 nuts/bolts from the hardware store. Very simple and cheap.

Added a support bar

Added a support bar to the triangle feet using some threaded rod. This has really stabilized it and once the DIY 6RU is placed it weighs it down nicely.

The link system can be purchased, it consists of

Handle screw:

Rackbrute 3u
Size & weight
Instrument size : 19 x 6.6 x 3.3 inches (484 x 167 x 83mm)
Instrument weight : 4.7 lbs. (2.1 Kg)

RackBrute 6U
https://www.arturia.com/rackbrute-6u/overview
Size & weight
Instrument size : 19 x 13.2 x 3.3 inches (484 x 300 x 83mm)

Excellent! Did they give you any pricing?
edit: Also, the parts that really need to be available for purchase are the case inserts, the bits that the screws go into.

I need two of them.

I asked for precisions about the mechanism so i can know how to attach it to the mantis (maybe it's almost impossible to.. hehe)

They responded with the price for one:

These parts (link bracket, Y, Rackbrute 3U sides Left and Right, plus screws)= 56€
Shipping costs to: Switzerland =41.99€
Total: 97.99€

lol @ the shipping costs but heh

Also they probably doesnt sell the mechanism alone here or am i missing something. Becuase 3u sides left & right imply that i should detach it and all..

Honestly for the price i can do a triple combo myself and its more flexible.
If i manage it correctly it can even be compatible with arturia link (which i don't really care in the end i just want to attach 2 mantis)

I can probably do something with a quick release bolt. I have a crane stand and it's really really sturdy. Pretty sure it can bear the weight of the 6u plastic mantis case

I just need to workout something with a similar mechanism
