Hello
I’m hoping to have kits for this available soon after the new year.
Progress has been quite slow as there have been quite a few hurdles but hopefully all is on track now.
Unlike the original this has individual LFOs for each channel, wave-folders, a delay control for the Run Generator, Decay CV and of course, MIDI IN and THRU.
If you’re familiar with the original, you’ll know how much fun these are
If you subscribe to the website (bottom of the homepage) you’ll receive a notification as soon as they become available.

These are bizarre manifestations of untamed high-frequency parasitic oscillations...

Looks awesome!
Will you have a panel/PCB only option, or will we have to buy the full kit?
Just that having a huge collection of components in stock, I always avoid full kits.

Kits will include everything BUT passives, Semis, ICs (all SMD) and minor hardware (spacers /screws)

Interested as well.
... why buy it for $100 when you can build it yourself for $150?

I should mention that except for the panel hardware and couple of bits n’ bobs, all components are SMD.
Also. there’s no reserving of kits via this thread. If you’re interested, please just subscribe to the website and you’ll get a notification as soon as they become available. Of course, I’ll keep you informed here as to how things are progressing. That said; This week, I’ll be ordering another prototype PCB with a couple of changes and hopefully that’ll be the the last one before I place an for order 200.
Kits will include :
1x Voice/Control board
1x Power/MIDI board
1x Powder coated/Screen printed steel enclosure
4x Rubber feet
42x 9mm Alpha pots
42x Cliff K88 knobs & caps
16x sub mini toggle switches
1x mini slide switch (power)
5x 30mm slide potentiometers
5x slider caps
16x PJ301BM 3mm jacks
1x pre-programmed ATMEGA 328
£340 inc VAT plus shipping

How tiny will the SMD semiconductors be?
The double transistors in the SY-1M were my size limit, a
bit more space between the IC legs would be great

Beautiful. I hope you'll continue to stock the Syncussion project too though; All this time I still haven't gotten a chance to build one.

There are quite a few matched transistor pairs which are SOT-457
All resistors are 0805
All caps are PTH except for a couple on the power board
Diodes are all SOD-123
etc.
...basically, if you managed the BCM transistors on the Syncussion you should be fine. I’ll upload a decent pic of the layout soon and let you be the judge

I think you may have misunderstood me. All I intended to say was something like "SOIC with 1.27 mm pin pitch is OK for me; SOT-457 with 0.95 mm pin pitch is the limit for me; but TSOP with 0.5 mm pin pitch would definitely be a problem."

Ah! “wrong end of the stick” ... again
Unfortunately, as far as I can tell those transistors aren’t available in anything bigger so I’m afraid 457s it is. I looked at quad matched (SOIC) but they’re expensive and make the routing quite awkward.
Patrick at diysynth.de has some nice little
SMD practice boards if anyone feels the need to brush up their skills.
