Source or alternate for LM7810ACT Voltage Regulator?
Hi all,
I'm sourcing parts for some Toppobrillo 281 Dual Function Generator modules, and the module calls for a "LM7810ACT Linear Voltage Regulator 10V 1A 2%". I've not been able to find this part in my usual sources, which includes Mouser and Tayda. Can anyone tell me where I can find this part, or alternately if a different voltage regulator could be swapped out? The part is listen on Mouser as 'obselete.'

How about Lm7810CT?
https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/ ... ND/1954730
Seems to be the same part, except it will operate down to -40c rather than just 0. Also listed as obsolete, but they still have 60 some in stock. I usually get oddball voltage regs from eBay if mouser, tayda, or jameco can’t help.

It began as a mistake.

Alas, that part on digikey has a price of "ERROR" and cannot be added to my cart. I did find a seller on eBay that I was able to get some from, though, so thanks for the tip there! One more piece acquired!

LCSC has one with similar specs. (Just happened to have them open, they have .1% smd resistors cheaper than anywhere.)

For that project (most others, too) you do not need any special part number. Play fast and loose with the letters.
It is a 10V regulator. It's footprint is TO-220 (listed as TO-220-3).
Just search "7810" and look under semiconductors.
Plenty to chose from:

Ebay for parts is a crap shoot.

Re: Source or alternate for LM7810ACT Voltage Regulator?
The main difference between LM7810A and LM7810 is output voltage precision. LM7810A has output voltage tolerance +-2% while LM7810 has +-4%. Temp stability is the same. Even if ouput voltage is used for reference somewhere, you can sort standard LM7810 to choose one with proper tolerance. Or maybe it doesn't matter - only schematic can tell the truth.
Re: Source or alternate for LM7810ACT Voltage Regulator?
Does anyone know if the TO-92 package version of any variant or the 7810 has been discontinued?
I can't find them at the local stores (no stock).
Mouser has none.
Farnell has them in limited stock
Is this being phased out?

Re: Source or alternate for LM7810ACT Voltage Regulator?
I purchased some off (German) Ebay a while ago, and they're still available there for next to nothing if you don't mind them being sent from China. The ones I received worked just fine.
@Kent: I just tried to pm you, but the board told me the recipient (a.k.a. you) don't exist?!

... why buy it for $100 when you can build it yourself for $150?

This came up the other day in a different tread.

I couldn't find TO-92 78L10 on ebay either.
SMD version was easy to find though.

you need to look at linear voltage regulators. then filter by voltage +10v. then filter by TO-92 and TO-92-3. they are the same thing but you need to hold ctrl while selecting more than one value to filter. I got 5 results. 4 part numbers in stock.

Aaaaargh. Mine are TO-220, not TO-92

78L10 (the TO-92 package) is also offered on Ebay, however. Not really expensive so it's worth a try. Just test them to see if they put out the proper voltage before connecting them to any valuable circuit

Re: Source or alternate for LM7810ACT Voltage Regulator?
test them with a load %20 bigger than the max current draw for your application. check vdc and vac. if the ripple is bad then they could be junk, or they could be low power versions. it is hard to reference a datasheet when you have a mystery part from ebay.
