Desoldering pump, electric, necessary?

The tubes are from a store that sells these containers to be used in a centrifuge for blood, the metal part is self made from aluminium.
Just google for plastic containers for centrifuge and you get a lot of hits similar to this:

I finally did that test I promised. I published a video if you want to see it, as well.
But you don't have to see the conclusion, because it's "You get what you pay for".
No an electric desoldering pump isn't necessary. But it's a lot easier and quicker, and if you work on something valuable, it's totally worth it. But otherwise a normal manual solder pump is fine. And the heated tip ones are a bit more expensive, and a bit nicer.

Yeah. Sorry that my shootout was entirely unhelpful. :-)
