since you mentioned faderfox, here's another german site offering custom controllers:
http://www.keyboardmanufaktur.de/

and then there is
http://www.tinamilab.com/
and
https://yaeltex.com/en/
http://midicustomshop.com/

no personal experience with either though...

also i am sure you can find a lot of talented builders here on the forum, midi controllers are not particularly hard to DIY in professional quality...

i'd like something kinda like two novation launch control xl's side by side. with two more buttons below each fader. and two more knobs above each fader. the livid ds1 comes close but no cigar. rotary encoders would be dope but knobs are fine

Wow that's something I haven't done in a very long time! Design a MIDI controller I mean. The last was before Arduino existed wow. Sorry, just hit me :hmm:

Hi! I am actually making a MIDI controller myself at the moment! Not sure if I can be of any help though since I already have a design ready. How many channels are you thinking of? Did you already make a drawing of some sort?

If you have any good input for my controller, I’d love to hear it :)

similar to novation launchpad xl

- 9 faders
- 5 knobs above each fader (center detent on top two)
- 2 small buttons above each fader side by side
- 4 buttons below each fader (three of them are small side by side, the fourth is larger on the bottom)

I like the spacing of the launch control XL faders and the overall feel.

Those are indeed very specific demands ;). It will probably turn out to be quite a big controller.

Did you ever look into building one yourself? Livid has some nice stuff to help, that's pretty cool IMO. https://lividinstruments.com/products/builder/

I also like the feel of the Launch Control XL, especially the knobs. I'm trying to find similar potentiometers as they're using for my own MIDI controller. Hard to find though :(.

The control knobs on the novation are custom.

It's more the faders and the way the caps are close to each other on XL that I want to replicate on my controller. The knobs can be something else, but detent is preferred

Do you mean the knobs or the potentiometers?
